1. Purpose of the job

What is the primary purpose of this job Describe main objectives.

Lead the team that is responsible for achieving the project objectives. Project managers direct the planning and execution of a project and personally commit to the success of the project. They nurture the project to meet its objectives. To set scope and develop project plan, execute the business case and tactical plan, in line with the Business / Department strategy, project and functional standards ensuring a successful delivery of the aimed project result.

Senior Project Manager MDG(Master Data Governance) is responsible for managing a program (with multiple projects underneath) or multiple smaller projects in parallel, to be delivered on time, in full and on/below budget.

Prepare the projects & create an integrated plan of multiple MDG projects including upgrade projects
Lead the project teams & execute as per the project plans
Close coordination with business and key users from involvement in requirement gathering till testing coordination and handover to normal operations
Handover the result & close the projects
Ensure proper stakeholder management and deliver value for the customer
Define and negotiate project objectives, deliverables and roles when working with outsourced business partners
Manages (changes in) prioritization and resourcing of multiple projects in consultation with steering team and GPO's(Global Process Owners)
Promote best practice methods, approaches and practices for project management across the AkzoNobel community through mentoring, coaching and demonstrating project management leadership
Organize post project reviews and document lessons learned and contribute to have Projects Management and AN Project Management methodology continuously optimized
Organizes work of IT team members, regularly updates Project management system and issue monthly project progress reports, and discusses these with team leads and domain leads. All in accordance with AN's IT project methodology
Reports project progress and seeks approval changes in scope, budget or timeline in the Project Steering Committee
Coordinates data cleansing and data migration related activities with business
Owns the planning with dependencies to upgrades, refreshes and deployment windows
Makes resource plans for all required resources and ensures all deliverables are achieved
Ensure the project(s) complies with the AkzoNobel Policies and Procedures.

Short Description

3. Level of autonomy

The Project Manager can lead and execute the project according to the agreed project plan. Reports to a Steering Committee which includes AN Senior Management (both IT and business), as well as representatives of contracted 3rd party System Integrators on partner level

4. Job requirements

List the essential educational qualifications, relevant experience and required skills.

Masters degree in Information Management or Business Administration
Certifications in market project management standards like : PMI/PMP, IPMA, PM-BOK, MSP or Prince2
At least 10 years experience in Managing/leading IT projects
At least 3 years experience in Master Data Transformation projects preferably with a SAP MDG on S4/HANA implementation
Experience with managing complex business transformation projects and working together with different levels of business stakeholders
Experience with managing System Integrators through time-and-material and/or fixed price contracts
Experience in connecting to SAP AG and other product experts in case of technical challenges
Experience in both waterfall and agile way of working would be beneficial
Experience in basic SAP datamodels from MDM perspective and well accustomed to SAP landscape
Experience in data cleansing and migration projects
