Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Project Manager with 6+ years of experience in Industrial Project Management, Plant Expansion, Plant Modification, Greenfield/Brownfield Projects, Chemical Manufacturing Facilities, Process Plants, or Specialty Chemical Plants.

The role will be responsible for end-to-end project execution including project planning, plant design coordination, vendor management, contractor management, erection supervision, statutory compliance, safety management, budgeting, stakeholder coordination, and project delivery within timelines and budgets.

Experience Required

  • 7+ years of experience in Project Management within Chemical, Specialty Chemical, Agrochemical, API, Pharmaceutical, Process Plant, Manufacturing, or Industrial Projects.
  • Hands-on experience in plant expansion, plant modification, equipment installation, utility projects, and industrial infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing multiple contractors, vendors, consultants, and cross-functional teams.
  • Exposure to project scheduling tools such as MS Project, Gantt Charts, Primavera, or equivalent tools.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Design

  • Identify plant modification and expansion requirements in consultation with Technical and Management teams.
  • Coordinate with consultants and engineering teams for plant and equipment design.
  • Review and support development of plant layouts, process flow, equipment placement, piping, utilities, storage, material handling, electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems.
  • Prepare project budgets, timelines, and resource plans.
  • Develop project schedules using MS Project, Gantt Charts, and project tracking tools.
  • Monitor project milestones and ensure adherence to project timelines.

Vendor Management

  • Identify and evaluate vendors for project equipment, materials, and services.
  • Conduct vendor assessment, qualification, and technical evaluation.
  • Review vendor quotations and commercial proposals.
  • Coordinate with Purchase and Management for vendor selection and purchase order finalization.
  • Track vendor deliveries and project material availability.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure quality of equipment and materials received at site.

Erection & Site Execution

  • Plan and supervise erection and installation activities.
  • Oversee installation of reactors, vessels, storage tanks, heat exchangers, columns, pumps, and process equipment.
  • Supervise piping, utility systems, electrical works, instrumentation, and automation activities.
  • Ensure execution as per approved engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Resolve site-related technical issues and deviations.
  • Monitor construction quality, productivity, and project progress.

Contractor Management

  • Identify and onboard contractors for civil, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and utility works.
  • Evaluate contractor capability and negotiate project scope and commercial terms.
  • Manage multiple contractors simultaneously during project execution.
  • Conduct regular progress review meetings.
  • Monitor contractor performance, safety compliance, and quality standards.
  • Manage change requests, contract variations, and project documentation.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all project-related statutory approvals, certifications, inspections, and licenses are obtained.
  • Coordinate with government authorities and regulatory bodies for approvals and NOCs.
  • Implement site safety plans and monitor compliance.
  • Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure GMP and quality requirements are incorporated into project execution and commissioning activities.

Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate with Production, Engineering, QC, Purchase, Stores, Logistics, Finance, and Management teams.
  • Manage communication with consultants, equipment suppliers, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), equipment inspections, and commissioning activities.
  • Lead project review meetings and ensure timely resolution of project issues.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain project documentation including drawings, contracts, approvals, inspection reports, and correspondence.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports.
  • Monitor project budget utilization and cost overruns.
  • Maintain contractor and vendor performance records.
  • Prepare commissioning, project completion, and project handover reports.
  • Present project status, risks, and mitigation plans to senior management.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
