Job Description

Role Purpose

The role is to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of equipment, starting from rigging, move-in, installation, commissioning, and facility readiness activities for lithium-ion battery manufacturing operations. The role is responsible for ensuring seamless integration of process equipment while meeting safety, quality and timeline.

Responsibilities

Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Lead end-to-end project planning and execution for equipment rigging, move-in, installation, and commissioning phases.
  • Develop detailed project schedules, milestones, and resource plans aligned with factory ramp-up timelines.
  • Coordinate with equipment vendors, contractors, and internal cross functional teams.
  • Manage project budgets, procurement coordination, and cost control.
  • Prepare detailed project schedules.
  • Develop installation methodologies and execution plans.
  • Plan manpower, equipment, and material requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and update schedules accordingly.
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment handling and logistics planning

Installation, Commissioning & MEP Coordination

  • Plan and coordinate machine delivery, unloading, positioning, alignment, and installation activities.
  • Lead commissioning activities including:
  • Utility verification
  • Equipment functionality tests
  • Safety validation
  • Process qualification
  • Support FAT and SAT closure.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams for line ramp-up and production.
  • Plan and manage facility MEP infrastructure.

Core Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of project planning and scheduling concepts.
  • Equipment installation and commissioning.
  • MEP system planning.
  • Dry room and cleanroom infrastructure.
  • Utility integration for manufacturing plants.
  • Project planning tools.
  • Layout planning and engineering drawings.
  • Industrial safety and EHS compliance.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical / electrical / industrial engineering.
  • 10–15 years of experience in project management within manufacturing industries.
  • Minimum 5+ years in leadership role.
  • Experience in battery manufacturing / semiconductor / electronics / automotive / gigafactory projects preferred.
