Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Lead – Mechanical to lead end-to-end mechanical design and development projects. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in mechanical engineering, product development, and team coordination. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering mechanical projects while ensuring quality, timeline, and cost objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and validation of mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Manage cross-functional project teams, including design engineers, drafters, and analysts.
  • Define project scope, timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables.
  • Interface with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment.
  • Review and approve mechanical designs, 3D models, and drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and DFMEA/DFMA sessions.
  • Track project milestones, prepare reports, and communicate progress to leadership.
  • Support prototype development, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in design and process methodologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 6–8 years of experience in mechanical design and project leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of design tools like SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or NX.
  • Experience in product development lifecycle – from concept to production.
  • Familiarity with GD&T, tolerance stack-up, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proven ability to manage technical teams and multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle pressure and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in automotive, aerospace, consumer products, or industrial equipment.
  • Exposure to tools like FEA, CFD, PLM systems (Teamcenter, Windchill).
  • PMP/Prince2 certification or formal training in project management.
  • Knowledge of Agile or hybrid project execution models.
