About the role
The Project Lead will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and implementing Project Parivartan, Goa. Project Parivartan is being implemented by Americares India in partnership with Directorate of Health Services, Goa and Goa Medical College address the issue of Amicrobial Resistance (AMR) and Infection Prevention and Control in the public health system of Goa. The project is being implemented in all 41 public health facilities in Goa, with a focus on the secondary and tertiary care facilities which have inpatient facilities. The Project Lead will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the program, supervising all program activities and program team ensuring quality across all health facilities. Responsibilities will also include planning, oversight, delivery, stakeholder management, technical leadership, monitoring and evaluation and ensuring that annual program goals are met. The position reports to the to the Country Director and works closely with Americares India's leadership team and other support functions.
What will You Do in this role (Roles and Responsibilities)
Core Project focused responsibilities:
- Develop, plan, design and implement project activities and track their progress.
- Work with project teams and facility in-charges to develop a facility specific action plan for implementation of IPC and AMS interventions
- Oversee the implementation of collaborative, evidence-based training, and capacity building for facility and project staff.
- Lead the development of identified policy documents (antibiotic policy, IPC policy) and standard operating procedures at facilities (scope of work for AMS and IPC committee, IPC and other operating policies) to support AMS and IPC practices
- Facilitate development of state AMR action plan, AMS and IPC training manuals and plans.
- Ensure the quality of project and deliverables as needed by the donor and various stakeholders involved
- Assist with donor and internal reporting requirements, assist in drafting reports; generate reports and presentations
- Prepare required training plans, identify training partners and experts and deliver quality training for various cadre of health care workers on AMS and IPC
- Prepares materials for presentations and briefings and deliver formal and informal presentations, as assigned
- Work closely with the M&E team to develop data collection tools and systems to facilitate performance measurement.
- Strengthen relationships with stakeholders for smooth implementation of the project, engage and update them on project progress and obtain required approvals and buy-ins
- Adapt best practices on project management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
- Assists in interpreting theresults and impact of project activities, conveying that information to programteams and senior leadership, and facilitating internal dissemination for criticalprogram and policy decisions
- Provide technical leadership on AMS and IPC and represent Americares India at public forums
General Administrative responsibilities:
- Guide & Supervise project staff in their day-to-day functioning
- Align work plan, budget, and activities across all the project s undertaken by Americares
- Share in knowledge dissemination, reporting, and communications
- Oversee data management and evaluation/implementation of new technology
- Work in tandem with the resource acquisition team for donor engagement
- Represent Americares at external meetings, workshops and foroums
We are lookingfor someone who has:
- Master's degree in public health / health administration / healthcare management / business management with 10+ years of hardcore program management experiencein health, hospital, or development sector
- MD Microbiology, Community Medicine / DNB - Medicine will be an added advantage
- Excellent domain knowledge of AMS and IPC
- Previous experience of project management in healthcare and with medium size hospitals or experience working with public health systems providing technical assistance
- Experience with delivery and implementation of antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention and control programs
- Experience in metrics and measurement with respect to program design and project implementation monitoring and reporting
- A commitment to excellence and demonstrated attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team, with balanced focus on personalaccountability and team goals
- Demonstrates initiative and follow-through and is self-motivated in the completion of deliverables in a dead-linedriven environment
- Experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative study analysis
Skills and Competencies:
- Demonstrated Planning, organizing, analysis, report writing, presentation and communication skills are necessary.
- Proven ability to work well with multiple stakeholders and diverse teams and to bring teams to consensus on recommendations for technical practices
- Experience in health program survey design and development
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel (with Macro), and PowerPoint
- Excellent writing and communication skills
