Job Description

THE ROLE:

The Project Engineer is responsible for assisting our Project Management team in coordinating projects, sales and material procurement. They will schedule, plan, forecast, and prepare reports on projects, and perform engineering services in accordance with, but not limited to, Australian Standards and regulations. The Project Engineer will be exposed to a range of FRP/composite products, including Treadwell's ACCESS SYSTEMS, EnviroTREAD, SecurEX and EcoEX ranges.

The Project Engineer will be someone with a strong desire and interest in learning and building a career in the FRP/composite industry.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working with Project Managers to deliver complex and custom projects on time and in full;
  • Working with the Lead Drafting Engineer to ensure drawings are produced accurately and on time for submission to clients;
  • Preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring assigned engineering projects;
  • Working with procurement to ensure materials are procured at a good price and lead time;
  • Preparing Gantt charts and detailed project schedules for complex projects for clients;
  • Working with the engineering team in preparing designs for basic and complex FRP structures;
  • Tracking invoice targets and payment schedules with project administration to ensure projects are invoiced accordingly under the supervision of Project Managers;
  • Operating and using ERP systems to track stock availability;
  • Preparing cost estimations from stock lists, profit/loss sheets for all projects and tracking project GPs for the duration of the project;
  • Liaise with clients, providing regular updates on projects and dealing with issues encountered throughout the duration of the project;
  • Initially receiving tasks and priorities and taking directions from the Project Management team;
  • Supporting the Project Manager for various additional tasks required.
  • Working closely with the planning team to ensure projects are set up for seamless execution.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Have a strong English proficiency to easily and clearly explain and communicate information with clients;
  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering;
  • Proven experience in advising clients on a technical product;
  • Open to learning and development opportunities with an ability to learn quickly;
  • Have a high attention to detail and strong relationship-building skills;
  • Able to present products, services and technical information to clients;
