Job Summary
As a Project Engineer in Power Quality Solutions (PQS) Electrical Engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical design and engineering solutions for PQS projects. The role covers end-to-end engineering execution, including MACH hardware control and protection system design, IED-based conventional control and protection systems, protection configuration and testing, auxiliary AC and DC system design, MV/LV switchboards, battery systems, junction boxes, LV cable sizing, and cable estimation. You will work closely with global engineering teams, customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure technically compliant, cost-effective, and reliable project delivery.
Job Responsibilities
. Deliver electrical engineering work packages for PQS projects in line with customer specifications, applicable standards, project schedules, quality requirements, and approved budgets.
. Prepare secondary engineering designs for MACH-based and IED-based control and protection system cubicles.
. Develop FACTS plant secondary design drawings and related project documentation.
. Design and estimate auxiliary AC and DC power requirements, including LV/MV switchboards, battery systems, UPS, and voltage stabilizers.
. Perform sizing and estimation of LV auxiliary power cables, control cables, communication cables, and indication cables.
. Provide technical input for procurement of cubicles, cables, junction boxes, AC/DC switchboards, MV switchgear, battery systems, UPS, voltage stabilizers, and related equipment.
. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, control, system design, commissioning, supply chain, and project management functions.
. Review and coordinate vendor and supplier drawings for electrical deliverables, including interfaces with primary equipment.
. Support sub-supplier evaluation and selection based on project requirements and technical compliance.
. Validate engineering schedules, monitor progress, and proactively escalate risks or delays affecting electrical deliverables.
. Participate in customer FAT, site installation support, commissioning support, and issue resolution as required by the project.
. Support protection system configuration, testing, and related engineering activities where applicable.
. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, standardization, lessons learned, and reuse of engineering solutions.
. Prepare and update as-built drawings and final project documentation.
Job Qualifications
. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
. 6-10 years of experience in substation secondary engineering, EPC design, project execution, HVDC control and protection hardware design, or a related electrical engineering domain.
. Strong experience in control and protection cubicle design, plant engineering, auxiliary power systems, LV/MV switchgear, cable engineering, and electrical drawings.
. Hands-on experience with E3 or similar electrical design tools.
. Knowledge of ETAP, IEC configuration tools, protection systems, and power system studies will be an added advantage.
. Good understanding of international standards such as IEC, ANSI, and IEEE, and the ability to apply applicable standards in project execution.
. Ability to work independently with general supervision, applying established local and global engineering standards.
. Strong ownership, analytical ability, attention to detail, and commitment to quality, safety, and timely delivery.
. Good stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across global teams, customers, contractors, suppliers, and internal functions.
. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
