Project Engineer

Noratel India is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our engineering team in Bengaluru.

In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development and industrialisation of transformers and reactors for customer-specific applications. You will support projects throughout the full engineering process - from technical quotations and product design to prototype development, production implementation, quality follow-up and cost optimisation.

You will work closely with engineering, production, quality, purchasing and sales teams across Noratel India and Noratel North America.

Key responsibilities

• Design transformers and reactors for customer-specific applications.
• Optimise product designs for performance, cost, quality and manufacturability.
• Review design and manufacturing documentation for toroidal and laminated transformer products.
• Prepare and review technical quotation documentation, including specifications, drawings, Bills of Materials and prototype routings.
• Coordinate prototype preparation, testing and approval.
• Support production teams in resolving manufacturing and testing issues.
• Ensure the accuracy of Bills of Materials, routings, specifications and engineering change documentation.
• Coordinate engineering and production activities between Noratel India and Noratel North America.
• Lead value analysis and value engineering activities to reduce product and manufacturing costs.
• Support product compliance and certification activities in accordance with IEC, UL, CSA and other applicable standards.
• Cooperate with suppliers on technical specifications, materials, tooling, pricing and lead times.
• Work with Quality teams on non-conformities, customer returns and corrective actions.
  

Qualifications and experience

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Power Engineering specialisation would be an advantage.
• Minimum three years of experience in magnetics design within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with transformers, reactors, inductors or similar power magnetic products.
• Practical knowledge of transformer design, construction and manufacturing processes.
• Experience in preparing Bills of Materials, engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with engineering change management and document control processes.
• Working knowledge of international standards, including IEC, UL and CSA.
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to travel occasionally between Noratel facilities in Bengaluru and Thiruvananthapuram.
