Project Engineer (Marine / Shipbuilding)

Location: Singapore

Salary: SGD 3,000 – 4,000

️ Occasional travel to Batam and overseas when required


Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Engineer to support newbuilding, ship repair, and vessel conversion projects within the marine industry.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Review technical specifications, drawings, and project requirements for marine projects.
  • Coordinate with designers, clients, classification societies, vendors, production teams, and system integrators to ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements.
  • Monitor engineering deliverables, drawing schedules, and project timelines to support successful project execution.
  • Liaise with internal engineering teams to resolve technical issues and prepare responses to client, class, and vendor comments.
  • Manage technical correspondence and information flow among all project stakeholders.
  • Organize and participate in technical meetings in Singapore, Batam, or other project locations.
  • Track classification review comments and ensure timely closure of outstanding technical matters.
  • Review engineering drawings, technical documentation, classification rules, and maritime regulations.
  • Work closely with Document Controllers to maintain proper document control, drawing status updates, and project records.
  • Support the timely issuance of engineering documents and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team while being capable of working independently.


Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Project Engineering, Marine Engineering, Shipbuilding, Ship Repair, Offshore, or related industries.
  • Familiar with engineering documentation, drawing control, and project coordination.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience liaising with clients, classification societies, vendors, and internal departments is advantageous.
  • Willing to travel to Batam or overseas for project meetings when required.

Preferred Experience

  • Shipbuilding, ship repair, vessel conversion, offshore, or marine engineering projects.
  • Exposure to classification societies such as Lloyd's Register, DNV, ABS, or similar.
  • Experience managing engineering drawings, technical submissions, and project documentation.
