Job Description
Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to handle comprehensive cost management activities including project costing, budget development, accurate estimation, and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) preparation for fit-out projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed project cost estimates based on architectural drawings, specifications, and scope requirements. Develop comprehensive budgets for various project phases including pre-construction, construction, and post-completion activities. Create accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQ) by analyzing drawings and specifications to determine material quantities, labor requirements, and associated costs.
Conduct market research to obtain current pricing for materials, equipment, and subcontractor services. Review and analyze vendor quotations to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with project specifications. Collaborate with procurement teams to validate cost assumptions and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
Monitor project costs throughout execution phases and provide regular budget variance reports. Support project managers with cost control measures and recommend corrective actions when budgets exceed approved limits. Maintain detailed cost databases and historical pricing information for future reference.
Required Qualifications: Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering / Mechanical& Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in cost estimation and BOQ preparation. Proficiency in estimation software and advanced Excel skills. Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail and accuracy in calculations.
Preferred Skills: Professional certification in quantity surveying or cost estimation. Experience with construction project management and familiarity with local market rates and supplier networks.
