Job Description

The Project Controller will play a critical role in ensuring effective planning, monitoring, and control of architectural projects from inception to completion. The role focuses on analysing current and future project performance, preparing detailed project plans, forecasting stage-wise delivery, billing, and collections, and supporting leadership with accurate data for decision-making. This position works closely with design teams, project leads, finance, and management to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with financial targets.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Analysis

Analyse each project's current status, scope, timelines, and resource allocation.

Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and milestones in coordination with project leads.

Forecast future project requirements, risks, and dependencies.

Track planned vs. actual progress and highlight deviations proactively.

Delivery & Stage-wise Monitoring

Define project stages and delivery milestones as per contracts and internal standards.

Monitor stage-wise deliverables and ensure alignment with agreed timelines.

Coordinate with design teams to ensure timely completion of drawings, submissions, and revisions.

Identify potential delays and recommend corrective actions.

Billing, Revenue & Collections Forecasting

Prepare stage-wise billing projections based on project plans and contracts.

Track actual billings against projections and identify variances.

Monitor receivables and collection status in coordination with the finance/accounts team.

Support timely invoicing by ensuring milestone completion and documentation readiness.

Reporting & MIS

  • Prepare regular project reports covering progress, delivery status, billing, and collections.
  • Maintain project dashboards for management review.
  • Provide insights on project health, risks, and financial performance.
  • Support leadership in reviews, audits, and strategic planning discussions.

Coordination & Process Improvement

  • Act as a bridge between design, project leads, and finance teams.
  • Support implementation and improvement of project management tools, templates, and processes.
  • Ensure adherence to internal project management standards and best practices.
  • Assist in capacity planning and workload forecasting across projects.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of architectural design project workflows.
  • Excellent analytical and planning skills.
  • Proficiency in project planning tools (MS Project, Excel, ERP/PM software, etc.).
  • Good understanding of contracts, fee structures, billing milestones, and collections.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 46 years of experience in project control, project planning, or project management roles, preferably in an architecture or design consultancy.
  • Experience working with multi-project environments is preferred.
