Role: Project Assistant (Climate Fellowship)
Location: Pune, with field assignments
WOTR invites applications for Project Assistants under the W-CReS Climate Fellowship Programme beginning November 2025. The 8-month fellowship offers young graduates and postgraduates in Environmental Science, Climate and Sustainability Studies, Agriculture, and Social Sciences a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in climate resilience, rural livelihoods, and field-based research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake field visits/ conduct interviews to collect qualitative and quantitative data from farmers and local stakeholders
- Collect, collate, and analyse primary and secondary data on local weather/climate and agriculture using data collection tools created by W-CReS.
- Documenting findings, Report writing, Writing blogs, etc.
- Collaborate with the field team and attend regular review meetings/trainings/Farmer Field Schools, etc.
Eligibility:
- Freshers with a Graduate/ Postgraduate degree in environmental science, agriculture, climate and sustainability studies, social sciences, and related disciplines.
- Freshers from other disciplines with a strong interest in climate change/sustainability/rural development/agriculture are also encouraged to apply.
- Candidates with a minimum of one year of experience are eligible to apply.
- Candidate should have a basic understanding of data collection tools and proficiency in MS Excel. Knowledge of R and Python will be considered an added advantage.
- Good verbal and writing skills in English and Hindi are essential. Additional knowledge of other regional languages, such as Marathi/Telugu/Odia/Kannada, will be preferred.
- Candidates willing to travel to field locations and work in rural settings (as required) will be given preference.
