Job Title:PROII Simulation - Product Test Engineer

Location:Hyderabad, India

Employment Type: full-time

The job

As a Product Test Engineer for AVEVA PRO/II Simulation, you will be at the heart of a premier steady-state process simulator used to design, analyze, and optimize process performance across the chemical, petroleum, and natural gas industries.
In this role, you will apply your specialized knowledge of chemical engineering and software testing to rigorously test and validate PRO/II Simulation. You will grow into a subject matter expert, providing critical support to customers and helping to resolve their most pressing technical inquiries.

Key responsibilities

  • Product Testing & Quality Assurance - Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for the PROII simulation software to ensure product quality and reliability.
  • Test Automation - Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to improve the efficiency and coverage of the testing process.
  • Analyze automation test results and report findings to the team.
  • Requirements Analysis & Refinement - Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, and developers to understand and refine product requirements.
  • Customer Support - Investigate and troubleshoot customer-reported issues with the PROII software. Provide timely and effective technical support to customers, including workarounds and solutions to their problems.​

Essential requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree (BE/B.Tech) in Chemical Engineering is required, with an advanced degree (Master's or PhD) being highly preferred. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated expertise in core chemical engineering principles and process modeling.
  • 5+ years of experience as Process Engineer or Techincal Support Engineer in Refineries, Chemical Plants or EPC Consultancy.
  • Familiarity and/or working knowledge of AVEVA Process Simulation is desirable.
  • Experience or a strong interest in software development, with an eagerness to acquire new skills in modern software development and testing methodologies.
  • Excellent written, verbal presentation and graphical communication skills with great depth of experience of collateral development, formal documentation, presentation development and delivery.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively to both technical and business audiences with the ability to be succinct and concise.
  • Good communication skills with the desire to work with a dispersed team across multiple time zones
  • Attention to detail, diligent and tenacious.
  • Excellent analysis and dissemination skills.
  • High degree of personal motivation and ability to self-manage.
  • Maintains and develops relevant industry knowledge.

Desired skills and competencies

  • Experience working in Agile software development is desirable
  • Coding abilities are highly desirable (C#, Scripting, C++, etc)
  • Software developemnt / testing experience is desirable

Hybrid working
