Job Summary:

ITM Group of Institutions is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Professor – Fashion Design to join its School of Fashion Design. The ideal candidate will possess strong academic credentials, relevant industry exposure, and a passion for teaching, mentoring, and research in fashion design. Expertise in Garment Construction, Pattern Making, and Surface Ornamentation is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Fashion Design or related discipline (completed or registered and pursuing)

Industry exposure in fashion houses, design studios, or garment export units

Membership in professional design bodies (FDCI, NIFT Alumni Association, etc.)

Required Qualifications:

Master's Degree (M.Des / M.F.A. / M.Sc. in Fashion Design or equivalent) from a recognized university

Minimum 8–10 years of academic experience or combined academic and industry experience

Strong portfolio demonstrating academic research, creative work, or industry projects

Experience in supervising undergraduate and/or postgraduate students

Proficiency in design tools and software such as Adobe Creative Suite, CLO 3D, CAD for Pattern Making, etc.

Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills

Key Subject Expertise Required:

* Garment Construction – apparel assembly techniques, tailoring, fit analysis, and production methods

* Pattern Making – flat pattern making, draping, grading, and CAD-based pattern development

* Surface Ornamentation – embroidery, textile embellishment, fabric manipulation, and surface design techniques

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging lectures, studio sessions, and workshops in Fashion Design, Garment Construction, Pattern Making, and Surface Ornamentation

Supervise student projects, internships, portfolios, and dissertations

Design, develop, and update curriculum in line with industry trends and academic benchmarks

Conduct academic research and contribute to publications, conferences, and seminars

Mentor students for design competitions, exhibitions, fashion shows, and placements

Guide students in portfolio development and career readiness

Collaborate with industry professionals and alumni for live projects, guest lectures, and internships

Implement innovative teaching methodologies and continuous assessment practices

Participate in departmental meetings, accreditations, academic audits, and institutional development initiatives.
