Description

As a Risk Manager for Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) at Amazon, you will play a crucial role in our commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable business practices. You'll lead efforts to ensure Amazon's compliance with EPR regulations across multiple jurisdictions, focusing on waste streams such as packaging, electronics, and batteries, amongst others. In this position, you'll leverage your strategic thinking, analytical skills, and stakeholder management abilities to develop innovative solutions, optimize compliance processes, and support Amazon's goals while navigating complex regulatory landscapes.

Key job responsibilities
-Lead initiatives to improve the seller-facing compliance interface, ensuring sellers can easily understand and act on EPR requirements across multiple jurisdictions
-Orchestrate the development and launch of new compliance features, collaborating with engineering, science, and design teams to deliver scalable solutions that improve seller experience
-Establish and maintain monitoring systems to track enforcement accuracy, defect rates, and seller friction points - using data to prioritize fixes and measure impact
-Manage defect triage and resolution end-to-end, coordinating across operations, engineering, and policy teams to ensure timely fixes while maintaining system integrity
-Partner with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvements in compliance workflows, focusing on reducing seller burden, improving automation, and scaling across new regulations

Basic Qualifications

- 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of managing food safety and quality in a large-scale retail or manufacturing environment experience
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field
- Knowledge of retail food code and regulations governing grocery retail at local, state, and federal levels
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience handling confidential information
- Experience interacting with local food safety regulators

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience
- Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials
- Experience with SQL and Excel
