About/ Summary (of Centre or Project): The Center for Machine Intelligence and Data Science (CMInDS) at IIT Bombay is dedicated to advancing AI and data science education, research, and industry collaboration.
Job Purpose
- We are seeking a proactive and execution-driven Program Manager to lead the planning and delivery of AI and Data Science-focused education programs at CMInDS. These include certificate programs, executive courses, short-term offerings, and custom industry programs.
- The role requires strong program management capabilities, along with a working understanding of AI, Data Science, or related technical fields, to effectively collaborate with faculty, engage with program content, and ensure high-quality delivery.
- Candidates should bring prior experience in managing educational programs and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced academic and industry-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership & Delivery:
- Own end-to-end program management across certificate, diploma, executive, and custom programs, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.
- Drive program planning including scheduling, resource allocation, faculty coordination, and delivery readiness.
- Maintain and continuously improve program calendars, delivery frameworks, SOPs, and operational trackers.
- Plan and manage logistics for in-person and residential programs, including participant onboarding, campus visits, accommodation, travel coordination, venue readiness, and on-ground execution.
- Anticipate risks and bottlenecks, and proactively implement mitigation strategies to ensure seamless execution.
- Independently manage multiple programs and priorities with minimal supervision.
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration:
- Serve as a primary interface for faculty, industry partners, participants, and internal teams.
- Collaborate closely with faculty on program design, delivery planning, and continuous improvements.
- Manage relationships with EdTech platforms, technology teams, internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure smooth delivery.
- Ensure a high-quality participant experience through proactive engagement and issue resolution.
Program Strategy & Continuous Improvement:
- Contribute to program design, outreach strategy, and scaling of new initiatives in AI and Data Science education.
- Analyze feedback, program data, and outcomes to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Develop and standardize processes, templates, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
Desired Profile:
Education:
- B.Tech or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, and Master's degree or equivalent in AI, Data Science, Engineering, Management, or a related discipline.
Experience:
- 4+ years of relevant experience in program management, executive education, academic program delivery, or related roles, with proven experience managing end-to-end program lifecycle, preferably in AI, Data Science, or technology-driven education programs.
- Experience working with faculty, industry stakeholders, and cross-functional teams; exposure to budgeting, financial tracking, and program-level resource planning is desirable.
Skills:
- Strong program management and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously; clear and effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to understand and engage with AI/Data Science program content; proficiency in operational tracking, reporting, and documentation.
- Familiarity with EdTech platforms, LMS tools, and digital learning environments.
- Strong logistical planning and execution skills, especially for in-person, residential programs, workshops, and campus visits.
- High degree of ownership, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail; ability to work independently in an academic environment.
Other Requirements:
- Strong interest in AI and Data Science education and outreach.
- Demonstrated ability to bridge technical and operational aspects of program delivery.
- Experience in digital learning, executive education, or institutional program management is highly desirable.
Disclaimer: The position is contractual for a period of 1 year but renewable as per Institute's guidelines and tenable only for the duration of the project. The selection committee may offer lower or higher designation and lower or higher salary depending upon the experience and performance of the candidate in the interview.
