Job Description

Purpose of the Role

The Program Manager – AI & Automation Enablement is a senior individual contributor role within Global Business Services (GBS), responsible for leading and governing AI- and automation-enabled initiatives from intake through stabilization. Building on a strong project management foundation, this role ensures AI solutions are business-ready, well-governed, and successfully adopted, bridging PMO discipline with intelligent automation enablement across GBS processes.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. AI & Automation Program Leadership
• Lead AI- and automation-enabled initiatives across GBS from initiation through post-go-live stabilization.
• Apply disciplined project management while adapting delivery approaches for AI, agent-based, and automation use cases.
• Coordinate work across process owners, technology, data, risk, and change partners.
• Maintain focus on execution and outcomes rather than AI strategy or solution build.

2. Process, Decision & Agent Readiness Enablement
• Assess readiness of processes and decisions for AI and automation deployment.
• Facilitate documentation of decision logic, thresholds, and exception handling.
• Identify readiness gaps and support mitigation planning.
• Act as a facilitator, not the technical or business decision owner.

3. Governance, Risk & Responsible AI Coordination
• Support AI and automation governance aligned to controls and risk standards.
• Coordinate with Risk, Compliance, Audit, and Legal partners.
• Ensure transparency through documentation and auditability.
• Flag risks and escalate issues early.

4. Adoption, Change & Value Realization
• Support adoption of AI-enabled ways of working.
• Reinforce clarity on human vs. machine responsibilities.
• Track stabilization, adoption, and realized value post-deployment.
• Prevent launch and forget delivery patterns.

5. Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Leadership
• Translate AI concepts into practical business language.
• Manage complex, global stakeholder environments.
• Align process, technology, and operations teams.

6. PMO & Capability Evolution
• Contribute to evolving PMO standards for AI and automation.
• Share lessons learned and best practices.
• Support new readiness tools and templates.

Experience, Skills & Background

• 8–12+ years in project management, PMO, or transformation roles within GBS or complex enterprises.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional, technology-enabled initiatives.
• Working knowledge of AI, automation, or digital transformation concepts.
• Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• High process and data literacy; governance or risk exposure a plus.

What This Role Is (and Is Not)

This role is a senior, hands-on project leadership position enabling AI and automation at scale. It is not an AI engineer, data scientist, or AI strategy owner.
