How will you make an impact in this role

The Analyst will report to the Director of Legal Affairs in the Global Litigation and Investigations Team (GLIT) within the General Counsel's Organization (GCO) and support the Program Management Office (PMO). The incumbent will support all aspects of regulatory and business unit reporting , litigation risk management and governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of two-three colleagues and provide effective coaching and timely feedback.
  • Support regulatory, internal, and ad hoc reporting requests.
  • Support retrieval of card member and merchant data from Amex platforms for active litigation matters.
  • Analyze complex data flows to identify litigation and claim trends, exceptions, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Design, build, and maintain leadership-ready dashboards to track volumes, trends, themes, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Identify and address data quality issues to ensure the reliability, consistency, and integrity of analysis and reporting.
  • Reduce manual effort and improve reporting and other processes through automation, standardization, and process enhancements.
  • Support GLIT projects, project planning, project tracking, artifact submissions and project closure as required.
  • Support governance and risk management initiatives including audits, business continuity, process risks self-assessment, operational risk events, and issue management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in data analytics and reporting in an Operations or related function.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, charts, advanced formulas, macros, and experience building automated or semi-automated Excel reports and dashboards.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Cornerstone, Hive, SQL and Lumi.
  • Analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and strong commitment to data accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
