Location and Work Authorization: Guwahati, Assam, India

Language: Fluency in Assamese is mandatory

Position: Full-time, 9-month fixed-term contract

Precision Development (PxD) is looking for a driven, resourceful, and independent professional to join our team as a Program Associate/Senior Program Associate based in Guwahati, Assam.

The associate will play a key role in supporting the implementation of a state-level digital advisory initiative in partnership with the Government of Assam. The role will involve close coordination with government departments, supporting pilot implementation, and ensuring that digital advisory systems are aligned with the needs of frontline staff and farmers.

This position will be embedded locally and will require regular engagement with government stakeholders. The role will involve travel within Assam as required for pilot activities and field coordination.

The associate will work as part of a collaborative and flexible team, with the opportunity to contribute to the design and implementation of innovative digital solutions aimed at improving access to timely and relevant information for farmers.

What are we looking for (i.e. Requirements):

  • Ability to coordinate with state and district government stakeholders
  • Strong on-ground implementation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience supporting multi-stakeholder projects, including coordination between government, research institutions, and implementation partners.
  • Ability to conduct field visits, gather user feedback, and translate field insights into program improvements.
  • Experience in process documentation, reporting, and preparation of briefing materials.
  • Ability to track implementation progress and support resolution of operational issues during pilots.
  • Willingness to travel within Assam, particularly to pilot districts.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating closely with a central program team.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of relevant professional experience in public policy, development, agriculture, or government programs.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Policy, Development Studies, Agriculture, Economics, or related fields.
  • Fluency in Assameseand English is required for engagement with local stakeholders.
  • Experience working with government departments or public sector programs.

Nice to have:

  • Prior experience working on agriculture or rural development programs.
  • Familiarity with digital platforms, advisory systems, or technology-enabled public programs.
  • Experience supporting pilot implementations or field deployments.
  • Prior experience working with state agriculture departments, KVKs, or research institutions.
