Core Responsibilities
- Clinical Leadership & Patient Care
- Expert Consultation: Provide senior-level diagnosis and management for complex respiratory conditions such as COPD, Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD), severe Asthma, and Sleep Apnea.
- Interventional Pulmonology: Oversee and perform advanced procedures, including Fiberoptic Bronchoscopy, Medical Thoracoscopy, and EBUS (Endobronchial Ultrasound).
- Critical Care & Sleep Medicine: Lead the management of the Respiratory ICU and oversee the Sleep Laboratory for diagnosing disorders like Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
- Public Health Impact: Supervise the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP) activities within the institution and ensure rigorous DOTS implementation.
- Academic & Training Excellence
- Postgraduate Supervision: Act as a primary PG Guide/Thesis Advisor for MD (Pulmonary Medicine) and DNB students.
- Curriculum Innovation: Develop and update teaching modules for undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate students, integrating new NMC competency-based guidelines.
- Skill Lab Training: Lead hands-on training for students in Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT), arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis, and ventilator management.
- Research & Scholarly Output
- Strategic Research: Direct the department's research agenda, focusing on prevalent issues like air pollution, respiratory infections, and lung malignancies.
- Publication Leadership: Maintain an active profile in high-impact indexed journals (Pubmed/Scopus) and mentor junior faculty in scientific writing.
- Grant Acquisition: Secure funding for clinical trials and observational studies from national bodies like ICMR or international health organizations.
- Administrative & Regulatory Duties
- NMC Compliance: Ensure the department meets all National Medical Commission (NMC) standards regarding faculty-to-student ratios, bed occupancy, and equipment.
- Hospital Committees: Serve on institutional bodies such as the Ethics Committee, Pharmacovigilance Committee, or the Hospital Infection Control Committee.
Required Qualifications & Experience

Teaching Experience Minimum
8-10 years of total teaching experience, including at least
