Job Description

We are looking for the Dean of Healthcare Management / Public Health for one of our reputed client based at Bengaluru. The Dean is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the operations, strategic direction, and academic excellence of a healthcare-focused faculty or department within an educational institution. This role combines administrative leadership, educational stewardship, and collaborative engagement with faculty, students, and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Administration:

  • Provide visionary leadership for the Faculty of Healthcare, ensuring alignment with the institution's mission and values.
  • Oversee all aspects of faculty operations, including curriculum development, budget management, and fund development.
  • Collaborate with other deans, administrators, and university leadership to enhance interdisciplinary programs and initiatives.

Academic Excellence

  • Foster an environment conducive to world-leading research, excellence in teaching, and engaged scholarship.
  • Champion curricular innovation, ensuring programs meet the highest standards of quality and relevance.
  • Encourage faculty and student involvement in research, scholarly activities, and professional development.

Student and Faculty Support:

  • Cultivate an inclusive and supportive environment where students, faculty, and staff thrive.
  • Promote student success, well-being, and career development.
  • Recruit and retain high-quality faculty members who contribute to the faculty's mission.

External Engagement

  • Represent the Faculty of Healthcare externally, building partnerships with healthcare organizations, industry, and government agencies.
  • Advocate for the faculty's interests and collaborate on initiatives that advance healthcare education and practice.
  • Participate in fundraising efforts and donor relations to support faculty programs and infrastructure.

Ethical Leadership

  • Demonstrate personal and professional integrity, setting a positive example for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Uphold ethical standards and promote respectful and collegial conduct within the faculty.

Qualifications

  • An advanced degree (e.g., MD, PhD, or equivalent) in a relevant field within healthcare / Hospital Management / Public Health.
  • Significant experience in academic leadership, preferably as a department chair, associate dean, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare education and research
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
