Vivekananda Global University (VGU), Jaipur is inviting applications from accomplished industry leaders, senior professionals, entrepreneurs, practitioners, consultants, technologists, policymakers and domain experts for the position of Professor of Practice across its diverse academic faculties.

The Professor of Practice will play a pivotal role in strengthening the interface between academia and industry by bringing contemporary professional knowledge, real-world experience, industry practices, innovation and professional networks into the University's academic ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

1. Industry-Oriented Teaching & Learning

• Deliver expert lectures, masterclasses, workshops and practitioner-led sessions.
• Bring real-world business, industry and professional situations into the classroom.
• Develop and facilitate case studies, simulations, live projects and experiential learning activities.
• Mentor students on practical applications of concepts and emerging industry practices.
• Contribute to professional certification and skill-development initiatives.

2. Curriculum & Academic Development

• Provide industry inputs for curriculum design, review and revision.
• Identify emerging skills, technologies and professional competencies required by industry.
• Develop industry-oriented modules, electives, case studies and practical assignments.
• Support the integration of contemporary tools, technologies and professional practices into academic programmes.

3. Student Mentoring & Career Development

• Mentor students on career planning, professional development and industry readiness.
• Support students with live industry projects, internships and professional assignments.
• Conduct mock interviews, industry-readiness sessions and career mentoring.
• Guide student entrepreneurs, innovators and project teams.

4. Industry-Academia Collaboration

• Develop and strengthen relationships between VGU and industry/professional organizations.
• Facilitate industry visits, internships, live projects and corporate engagements.
• Identify opportunities for MoUs, sponsored projects, consultancy and executive education.
• Facilitate interaction between students, faculty and leading professionals.

5. Innovation & Entrepreneurship

• Mentor start-ups and student entrepreneurs.
• Support innovation challenges, hackathons, incubation and entrepreneurial initiatives.
• Provide industry problem statements for student projects.
• Facilitate access to industry networks, mentors, investors and professional ecosystems.

6. Research, Consultancy & Applied Projects

• Collaborate with VGU faculty on applied research and industry projects.
• Contribute to consultancy, sponsored research, white papers, industry reports and case development.
• Facilitate industry-sponsored projects and real-world problem-solving initiatives.

7. Faculty Development

• Share contemporary industry knowledge and professional practices with faculty members.
• Conduct faculty development sessions, industry immersion programmes and practitioner workshops.
• Support faculty in developing industry-oriented cases, projects and experiential learning methodologies.

8. Institutional Contribution

• Participate in seminars, conferences, conclaves, advisory boards and institutional initiatives.
• Support executive education and Management/Professional Development Programmes.
• Contribute to enhancing VGU's industry visibility and professional ecosystem.

Eligibility

Candidates should preferably have:

• 15+ years of significant professional experience, preferably with substantial experience at a senior/leadership level.
• A distinguished professional track record and demonstrable achievements in the relevant domain.
• Strong industry/professional networks and contemporary domain knowledge.
• The ability to translate professional experience into meaningful student learning and institutional contribution.

In accordance with the UGC Guidelines for Engaging Professor of Practice in Universities and Colleges, exceptional professional expertise and demonstrated achievements are central to the role; conventional academic eligibility requirements applicable to regular faculty positions are not the primary basis for this engagement.

Professionals from industry, entrepreneurship, government, public service, professional practice, technology, consulting, creative industries, healthcare, social sector and other relevant fields are encouraged to apply.

The position is intended as a professional engagement and is distinct from a conventional regular faculty appointment.
