Position Summary
Amity University Kolkata invites applications for the position of Professor of Political Science. The University seeks an accomplished academic with an outstanding record in teaching, research, academic leadership, and institutional development. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes while fostering a culture of innovation, interdisciplinary research, and academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in Political Science and related disciplines.
- Design, develop, and update curriculum in accordance with UGC, NEP 2020, and university guidelines.
- Conduct high-quality research and publish regularly in reputed Scopus, Web of Science, and UGC-CARE indexed journals.
- Supervise Ph.D. scholars, postgraduate dissertations, and undergraduate research projects.
- Secure externally funded research projects, consultancy assignments, and collaborative grants.
- Mentor junior faculty members and contribute to faculty development initiatives.
- Organize seminars, conferences, workshops, guest lectures, and academic outreach programmes.
- Develop national and international academic collaborations with universities, think tanks, and government organizations.
- Participate in departmental administration, academic governance, accreditation (NAAC/NBA), and quality assurance activities.
- Promote interdisciplinary research in areas such as Public Policy, International Relations, Governance, Political Theory, Comparative Politics, Indian Politics, Human Rights, and Global Studies.
- Guide students in career development, internships, competitive examinations, and research activities.
- Contribute to institutional rankings, innovation initiatives, and strategic academic planning.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Political Science or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
- Consistently excellent academic record throughout.
- Minimum qualifications and experience as prescribed by UGC Regulations for the post of Professor.
- Normally 15+ years of teaching, research, industry, or professional experience, including significant experience at the Associate Professor level, with a strong research profile.
- Demonstrated record of high-quality publications in reputed peer-reviewed journals.
- Experience in supervising doctoral scholars and leading funded research projects.
- Administrative and academic leadership experience is highly desirable.
