Job Description

The Professor of Mathematics is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in undergraduate and graduate mathematics courses, conducting impactful research, mentoring students, and contributing to academic leadership and service within the institution. The role requires expertise in a specialized area of mathematics (e.g., pure mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, or computational mathematics) along with a strong commitment to teaching excellence and scholarly advancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching Academic Instruction
  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Real Analysis, Abstract Algebra, Probability, Statistics, or specialized electives.
  • Develop and update course syllabi, instructional materials, and assessment tools.
  • Employ innovative and technology-enhanced teaching methodologies.
  • Supervise undergraduate research, masters theses, and doctoral dissertations.
  • Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
  • Research Scholarly Activity
  • Conduct original research in a specialized area of mathematics.
  • Publish research findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
  • Present research at national and international conferences.
  • Secure external research funding and grants.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams.
  • Curriculum Development Academic Leadership
  • Contribute to curriculum design, review, and accreditation processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related discipline.
