Woxsen University seeks a distinguished scholar to lead pioneering research at the convergence of cognitive psychology, technology, and consumer behavior. This position offers the unique opportunity to shape how we understand human-technology interactions in the digital age while building a world-class research program that bridges psychological science with business applications and technological innovation.

POSITION SUMMARY

We invite applications for a transformative faculty position to establish our Center for Cognitive Technology & Consumer Insights. The successful candidate will conduct groundbreaking research on how cognitive processes influence technology adoption, digital consumer behavior, and human-computer interaction. This role requires a scholar who can seamlessly integrate rigorous psychological research with practical applications in technology design, marketing strategy, and digital user experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Research Innovation:

  • Lead cutting-edge research in cognitive psychology applied to technology use, consumer decision-making, and digital behavior
  • Establish interdisciplinary research programs combining neuroscience, behavioral economics, and user experience design
  • Develop novel methodologies integrating traditional psychological research with big data analytics, eye-tracking, and neuroimaging
  • Secure competitive funding from NSF, NIH, industry partners, and international research councils (target: $1.5M+ annually)
  • Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals across psychology, technology, and business domains

Academic Excellence:

  • Design innovative courses bridging cognitive psychology, consumer behavior, UX/UI design, and technology ethics
  • Mentor Ph.D. students in interdisciplinary research methodologies and industry applications
  • Develop executive education programs for technology companies, marketing agencies, and consulting firms
  • Create experiential learning opportunities through industry partnerships and real-world research projects
  • Lead undergraduate research initiatives and honors thesis programs

Industry Impact:

  • Collaborate with technology companies on user experience research and product development
  • Advise startups and established firms on consumer psychology and behavioral design
  • Contribute to policy discussions on technology ethics, digital wellness, and consumer protection
  • Develop evidence-based frameworks for responsible technology design and marketing practices

Thought Leadership:

  • Present research at premier international conferences in psychology, HCI, marketing, and technology
  • Serve on editorial boards of leading journals and review panels for major funding agencies
  • Organize international symposiums on cognitive technology and consumer behavior
  • Engage with media to translate research findings for broader public understanding

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology, Experimental Psychology, or related field from a top-tier research university
  • Minimum 7 years of post-doctoral research experience with demonstrated excellence
  • Proven track record of high-impact publications (minimum 20 peer-reviewed articles) in leading psychology and applied journals
  • Demonstrated expertise in quantitative research methods, statistical analysis, and experimental design
  • Experience with consumer behavior research and technology-related psychological phenomena
  • Strong grant writing record with successful funding acquisition ($750K+ lifetime total)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Expertise in neuropsychology, behavioral economics, or human-computer interaction
  • Experience with advanced research methodologies (fMRI, EEG, eye-tracking, behavioral modeling)
  • Industry collaboration experience with technology companies or consulting firms
  • Background in UX research, design thinking, or digital marketing analytics
  • International research experience and cross-cultural consumer behavior expertise
  • Programming skills in R, Python, or similar statistical/analytical platforms
