Job Description

A Well-established Medical College & Teaching Hospital Is Inviting Applications From Eligible Candidates For The Position Of Professor / Head Of Department (HOD) In The Following Departments

  • Medicine
  • Orthopedics
  • Respiratory Medicine
  • Radiology
  • Psychiatry
  • Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy (Skin & VD)
  • Forensic Medicine
  • Onco Surgery

Dean / Principal / Medical Superintendent

Qualification (As per NMC Norms)

Candidates must possess qualifications recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC):

  • MD/MS/DNB or equivalent postgraduate qualification in the concerned specialty.
  • Additional superspeciality qualification wherever applicable.
  • Valid State Medical Council / NMC Registration mandatory.

Experience Required (As Per NMC Eligibility)

  • Minimum teaching experience as prescribed by NMC for the post of Professor.
  • Experience must be from an NMC-recognized Medical College.
  • Candidate should have worked in the capacity of Associate Professor/Professor as per eligibility norms.
  • Administrative and departmental handling experience preferred for HOD role.

Research & Publications

  • Research publications must be in indexed/national/international journals as per latest NMC Teachers Eligibility Qualifications regulations.
  • Candidate should fulfill minimum publication criteria applicable for Professor designation.

Roles & Responsibilities Academic Responsibilities

  • Conduct undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs.
  • Deliver lectures, clinical demonstrations, seminars, and bedside teaching.
  • Guide PG students, dissertation work, and academic research.
  • Participate in curriculum planning and academic development activities.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Supervise patient care, OPD, IPD, emergency, and clinical services.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and quality standards.
  • Monitor clinical outcomes and departmental efficiency.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage departmental operations.
  • Ensure compliance with NMC norms, inspections, and documentation.
  • Maintain departmental records, duty rosters, academic schedules, and attendance.
  • Coordinate with hospital administration for departmental development.

Research & Training

  • Promote research activities, publications, and CME programs.
  • Organize workshops, conferences, journal clubs, and faculty development initiatives.
  • Encourage evidence-based medical practices and academic excellence.
