Production Support Engineer (Unix, SQL, ITIL, Batches & Jobs, Monitoring)

Description

We are seeking a Production Support Engineer with 5-10 years of experience to join our team in India. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Unix systems, SQL, and ITIL practices, with a focus on monitoring and managing batch jobs. The Production Support Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the stability and performance of our production environment, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with various teams to enhance system reliability.

Responsibilities

· 4 to 8 + Years of experience in Production Support using ITIL. 

· Strong proficiency in Unix & SQL and experience in ITIL, Batch Job Management and Alert Based Monitoring environment

· Handle L2 production incidents (P1/P2/P3) with in-depth investigation, diagnosis, and resolution within defined SLAs.

 · Lead major incident management, providing timely stakeholder updates, participating in war rooms/bridge calls, and ensuring accurate incident documentation.

 · Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring and critical incidents, create Problem tickets, and drive permanent corrective and preventive fixes.

 · Provide end-to-end application support, including batch processing, interfaces, integrations, file transfers, and data reconciliation as required.

 · Proactively monitor application health, logs, alerts, and dashboards to detect issues early and reduce impact and MTTR.

 · Support change and release activities, including change reviews, production deployments, configuration updates, post-release validation, and rollback readiness.

 · Ensure adherence to SLA/OLA commitments, operational KPIs, and ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, and Knowledge Management).
