Position Summary

The Production Supervisor will provide technical expertise in order to ensure that toll sites produce products in line with production plan and ship out quality material on time. He will be responsible for supervising all activities at site including receipt of material, sampling of raw material, in-process quality control, SPS compliance, scheduling of production, accommodation of rush orders, timely dispatch of finished goods, completion of all documentation as well as confirming transactions in SAP. Also, he will co-ordinate the initiatives which ensure continuous improvement in safety, quality, manufacturing and dispatch.

Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:

  • To implement all management systems and procedures to ensure effective and efficient manufacturing at the Third Party Manufacturing Sites and Demo Sites facilities.
  • Work closely with the toll site teams with a properly integrated mix of training, follow-up, correction and maintenance of standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance of toll sites in the areas of statutory regulations, environmental requirements, safety and health of people and hazardous materials management.
  • Continuously monitor the production plan and coordinate closely with planning and sourcing teams to ensure aligned movement of raw material and finished goods. Support business in executing rush orders on priority while ensuring that no compromise are made on safe and quality working.

Other Job Requirements:

  • Good knowledge and experience in dealing with chemical industrial environment.
  • Knowledge on personnel safety, process safety, industrial hygiene, materials management and regulatory compliances is a must.
  • Ability to respond logically and as planned when presented with emergency conditions.
  • Ability to accurately grasp, manage and communicate the requirements of detailed and complex production SKU requirements
  • Explain standard operating procedures in a language understandable by the operating personnel.
  • Ability to effectively interface within all levels of the organization including site managers shop floor operators and unionized personnel.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with plant personnel to obtain necessary information to determine compliance issues within the plant.

Stakeholder coordination :

The candidate will need to coordinate with internal stakeholders on regular basis to ensure business growth. Hence he will need to have good written and oral communication skills to interact positively with:

  • Toll site staff - for production planning, execution, SPS adherence, QMS implementation
  • Quality team - for product analysis, deviation reports
  • Warehouse team - for unloading of vehicles, transport coordination,
  • Sourcing team - for timely receipt of goods, return of rejected material,
  • Planner - for production plan in line with business plan with relevant priority
  • Finance team - for bill processing, for GST compliance,
  • IT team - for SAP queries, new BOM upload, invoicing and e-way bill

Educational Qualifications: BE (Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical Branch) with relevant experience.

Experience: Candidate should have 6 to 8 years of total related experience in Production in reputed manufacturing industry handling hazardous chemicals.

Skill Requirements:

  • Knowledge of SAP would be a big asset
  • Chemical plant experience in implementing programs to comply with environmental, safety and health, hazardous materials management compliance
  • Exposure to handling hazardous chemicals
  • Familiarity with other regulatory areas such as GST, factory act, MV act etc.
