- Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent. Working in shifts (A/B/C), General shift awarded based on performance.
Job Responsibilities
- Single-point accountability for safety during the shift — PPE, work permits, LOTO, emergency response.
- Conduct pre-shift area walk-through to catch leaks, abnormal noise/vibration, and unsafe acts.
- Execute the day's batch schedule as per SOP and batch manufacturing record — charging, reaction, distillation, filtration, packing, material transfer, etc.
- Monitor and track critical parameters and intervene on deviations before they escalate.
- Own shift KPIs: yield, cycle time, on-spec output, utility consumption.
- Allocate operators and helpers across reactors, distillation columns, and other process areas.
- Train and mentor junior operators on SOPs, equipment, and emergency response.
- Maintain shift discipline — attendance, punctuality, PPE compliance, no shortcuts. In case of deviation inform HR immediately.
- Fill batch manufacturing records (BMR), logbooks, and deviation reports in real time.
- Coordinate with QC for sampling, in-process checks, and batch release; hold off-spec batches.
- Ensure GMP / ISO / Responsible Care compliance and audit readiness.
- Raise and follow up on maintenance breakdown calls; coordinate with mechanical / electrical / instrumentation / utilities department.
- Issue and verify Permit to Work (PTW) for maintenance activities and confirm safe handover of equipment.
- Conduct a complete shift handover — pending batches, abnormal conditions, open permits, manpower gaps — verbally and in writing.
- Escalate process upsets, safety incidents, and production-impact issues to Section In-charge / Production Manager.
- Coordinate with stores for raw material issue and dispatch for finished goods movement.
- Lead first response to incidents, near-misses, fires, and toxic releases.
- Participate in HAZOP, MOC reviews, RCA, and SOP revisions.
- Capture near-misses, process upsets, and yield drops as improvement opportunities.
