Company Description:
Scott Sheldon India Pvt. Ltd, Part of Argon & Co. located in Nagpur, is a branch office of Scott Sheldon LLC, Ohio. For over 20 years, we have been helping companies improve and transform their supply chain operations using world-class technologies. In 2020, we formed a strong partnership with a leading supply chain software provider. We have delivered many successful projects, won major industry awards, and continue to grow by implementing advanced supply chain solutions for our customers
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Production Scheduling Consultant to design, configure and implement advanced production scheduling and finite-capacity planning solutions for our manufacturing clients. The role bridges shop-floor scheduling realities with planning-system capability — helping clients reduce changeovers, lift on-time delivery, increase throughput and free up working capital. You will work across the full delivery lifecycle — discovery, solution design, configuration, integration, testing, go-live and hypercare — acting as the trusted advisor who translates operational pain points into robust scheduling logic. This is a platform-agnostic role: experience with any leading APS / production scheduling tool is welcome.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead or support end-to-end implementations of production scheduling / APS solutions, from requirements gathering through go-live and hypercare.
- Map current-state manufacturing processes (routings, work centres, capacities, constraints, sequencing rules and changeover matrices) and translate them into the target scheduling model.
- Configure and tune scheduling engines — finite-capacity scheduling, sequence-dependent setup optimisation, campaign/batch logic, bottleneck management and constraint handling.
- Design and validate the master-data model required for scheduling: routings/recipes, resources, capacities, calendars and product changeover relationships.
- Integrate the scheduling solution with ERP, MES and MRP systems for demand, orders, inventory and confirmations; define, build and test data interfaces..
- Run scenario analysis and what-if planning to demonstrate trade-offs across service level, utilisation, inventory and cost.
- Develop test scripts, lead UAT, train planners and schedulers, and create documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Provide post-go-live support, troubleshoot scheduling anomalies and recommend continuous improvement adjustments.
- Act as the liaison between plant operations, planning teams, IT and software vendors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply chain , Mechanical , Operataions Management or related Field
- 3+ years hands-on experience implementing or configuring production scheduling / APS software such as o9 Solutions, SAP PP/DS (ePP/DS in S/4HANA or APO-PP/DS), PlanetTogether, or a comparable platform (e.g., Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, Asprova, Opcenter APS / Preactor, DELMIA Ortems).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing planning concepts: MRP, MPS, finite vs. infinite scheduling, capacity planning, lot sizing, sequencing and constraint-based scheduling.
- Working knowledge of how scheduling integrates with ERP master data and execution (orders, BOMs, routings, work centres, confirmations).
- Exceptional analyExperience gathering requirements and running workshops with manufacturing and planning stakeholders.
- Ability to analyse and structure data — strong Excel skills essential; SQL or scripting a distinct advantage.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with a client-focused mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel (pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis), Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
