Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our Phyto Biologic and AYUSH manufacturing unit. You will be responsible for ensuring that production targets are met efficiently while maintaining the highest quality standards in line with GMP and AYUSH regulatory guidelines. This role is ideal for a professional with a foundational background in herbal science, and pharmacy, or biotechnology who is ready to step into a leadership position.
Key Responsibilities
- Production & Floor Management Supervise daily manufacturing processes for various dosage forms (e.g., tablets, capsules, syrups, oils, or herbal extracts). Allocate manpower effectively to ensure production schedules and batch timelines are met. Monitor machine performance and coordinate with the maintenance team for routine calibration and troubleshooting.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure all processes adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and AYUSH regulatory standards. Review and maintain Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR) and Batch Packing Records (BPR) with 100% accuracy. Implement and monitor In-Process Quality Checks (IPQC) to minimize deviations and wastage.
- Research & Development Support:t Assist the R&D team in pilot-scale trials for new phytopharmaceutical or Ayurvedic formulations. Monitor the stability and efficacy of raw botanical extracts during the production cycle.
- Inventory & Safety Maintain inventory levels of raw materials (herbs, active ingredients) and packing materials; initiate indents when necessary. Enforce safety protocols and hygiene standards (5S) on the shop floor to prevent cross-contamination.
Required Skills & Qualifications Educational Background
- B.Pharm / M.Pharm (Ayurveda or Pharmaceutics), B.Sc / M.Sc in Biotechnology, Botany, or Chemistry. Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with the Drugs & Cosmetics Act (specifically Schedule T) and extraction processes for botanical actives.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, ability to manage a team of 1015 operators, and excellent problem-solving skills under tight deadlines.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Word) and familiarity with ERP software (like SAP or Tally) is a plus
