A Snapshot of Your Day (Manufacturing Planning Engineer)
As a Manufacturing Planning Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the seamless execution of manufacturing operations by translating customer requirements into effective production plans. You will be responsible for developing manufacturing schedules, monitoring production capacity, coordinating cross-functional activities, and ensuring timely delivery of products while maintaining operational efficiency.
In this role, you will work closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Stores, Commercial, and Dispatch teams to align production activities with business objectives. You will leverage SAP, digital tools, and data-driven insights to optimize planning processes, improve resource utilization, and support business growth. We are looking for a proactive and analytical professional with a strong understanding of manufacturing planning, production processes, and stakeholder coordination who can contribute to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Develop and maintain manufacturing schedules based on customer delivery requirements while considering factory lead times and production constraints.
- Monitor manufacturing progress and proactively address bottlenecks to ensure on-time execution and delivery commitments.
- Assess manufacturing capacity, resource allocation, and capacity utilization while forecasting future demand requirements in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Coordinate and align sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, quality, stores, commercial, and dispatch activities to support efficient production execution.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly planning reviews with stakeholders to ensure alignment on manufacturing priorities and dispatch plans.
- Identify potential risks affecting production schedules and delivery performance, and develop contingency plans to minimize disruptions.
- Prepare and maintain management information reports (MIS) covering key business metrics such as revenue, production quantity, delivery capability, and delivery reliability.
- Execute manufacturing planning transactions within SAP, including production order creation, stock transfer order (STO) creation, and material consumption activities as per customer order requirements and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Perform detailed assessments of technical product requirements and proactively identify execution gaps, escalating issues where necessary.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering teams to validate, correct, and optimize Bills of Materials (BOM) to support manufacturing efficiency.
- Utilize digital tools and data analytics to improve planning accuracy, streamline workflows, and enhance operational visibility.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on manufacturing productivity, planning effectiveness, and delivery performance.
- Support operational excellence by ensuring effective communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in Manufacturing Planning, Production Planning, Manufacturing Operations, or a related function.
- Hands-on experience with SAP and strong understanding of manufacturing planning processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools.
- Strong analytical and logical thinking skills with the ability to interpret operational data and support informed decision-making.
- Knowledge of manufacturing workflows, production scheduling, capacity planning, inventory management, and resource optimization.
- Understanding of Bills of Materials (BOM), production orders, material planning, and manufacturing execution processes.
- Experience coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders including Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Stores, Commercial, and Dispatch teams.
- Ability to identify risks proactively and develop practical solutions to maintain production and delivery performance.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively within diverse teams and collaborate across multiple functions to achieve operational objectives.
