About The Role

The Production Planning Coordinator translates demand signals into an executable, freshness-aware production plan. You'll sit at the intersection of demand planning, procurement, and the production floor - converting forecasts into daily and weekly build plans, safeguarding raw material availability, and keeping finished-goods inventory aligned to real demand without over-producing perishable stock.

This is a hands-on, analytical, process-oriented role for someone who is comfortable living in spreadsheets and planning tools, thinks in KPIs, and enjoys bringing order to a fast-moving supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

Production planning & scheduling

- Convert channel-level demand forecasts into daily/weekly/monthly production plans across SKUs, accounting for shelf life, batch sizes, and line capacity.

- Build and maintain a rolling production schedule that balances freshness, service levels, and minimum waste.

- Sequence production to hit dispatch cut-offs and freshness SLAs, and re-plan quickly when demand or supply shifts.

Material & capacity planning

- Run material requirements planning: explode BOMs, net off inventory, and raise timely procurement requirements for raw and packaging materials.

- Coordinate with procurement to prevent stockouts and excess, and flag long-lead or at-risk items early.

- Track line and manpower capacity against the plan; surface bottlenecks and propose adjustments.

- Plan material & production for delivering across fulfilment centres daily and ensure the mode (rail/rode) assignment to the shipment according to freshness & stock levels.

Demand–supply coordination (S&OP linkage)

- Partner with demand planning to reconcile the forecast with production feasibility and highlight constraints for the consensus plan.

- Support unconstrained-vs-constrained demand discussions and help translate the demand from each sale channel into executable monthly production plans.

Inventory & freshness control

- Monitor finished-goods and raw-material inventory to keep it within target norms, minimizing both stockouts and expiry/wastage.

- Track ageing and near-expiry stock and drive corrective action with the relevant teams.

Reporting, KPIs & continuous improvement

- Own and report core planning KPIs: plan adherence / schedule attainment, forecast-to-production accuracy, fill rate, wastage %, inventory days of cover, and material availability.

- Build and maintain planning dashboards and MoM trend views; run root-cause analysis (RCA) on plan misses and drive closed-loop improvements.

- Standardize and document planning SOPs, and continuously improve planning cadence, data quality, and tooling.

What You'll Need

Must-have

- 2-4 years of experience in production planning, supply/demand planning, or a related operations/supply-chain role (FMCG, D2C, food, cosmetics, or perishable goods strongly preferred).

- Strong analytical and Excel/Google Sheets skills - comfortable with lookups, pivots, and building clean, decision-ready planning models.

- Working understanding of MRP concepts, BOMs, lead times, batch/lot planning, and inventory norms.

- Fluency with operations KPIs (fill rate, plan adherence, forecast accuracy, inventory cover, wastage) and comfort turning them into action.

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, supply chain, statistics, commerce, or a related field.

Good-to-have

- Exposure to S&OP / demand planning cycles and forecasting metrics (MAPE/WMAPE, bias/tracking signal).

- Experience with an ERP or planning system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Zoho, Unicommerce, or similar) and BI/dashboarding tools.

- Experience planning for perishable or short-shelf-life products.

- Understanding of D2C/e-commerce dynamics such as COD mix and RTO impact on effective demand.

How you work

- Detail-oriented and process-driven, with strong ownership and follow-through.

- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where plans change and speed of re-planning matters.

- A clear communicator who can align procurement, production, and planning around one number.

Why Nat Habit

- Play a central role in a supply chain where freshness is the product, and where good planning is visible in every shipment.

- High ownership and direct impact on fill rate, wastage, and customer experience from day one.

- A growing D2C brand building modern, data-driven operations from the ground up.
