About The Role
The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end manufacturing operations, ensuring optimum productivity, quality compliance, cost efficiency, and timely delivery. The role requires strong expertise in textile production planning, process optimization, manpower handling, machine efficiency improvement, and continuous operational excellence.
The incumbent will lead cross-functional coordination across Production, Quality, Maintenance, SCM, and Industrial Engineering to drive manufacturing performance aligned with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Operations Management
- Lead day-to-day textile manufacturing operations across weaving, printing, dyeing, finishing, stitching, or processing units.
- Ensure achievement of production targets with optimum utilization of manpower and machinery.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure adherence to delivery timelines.
- Drive productivity enhancement and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Production Planning & Process Control
- Coordinate with PPC and SCM teams for production planning and raw material availability.
- Monitor WIP, line balancing, machine loading, and production flow.
- Implement SOPs and process controls for consistent output quality.
- Ensure smooth shift operations and effective handovers.
- Quality & Compliance Management
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and customer specifications.
- Minimize rejection, rework, wastage, and process deviations.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams for process audits and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with EHS and statutory manufacturing norms.
- Team & Workforce Management
- Lead and manage supervisors, operators, and shop-floor workforce.
- Drive discipline, attendance management, and workforce productivity.
- Conduct training programs for skill enhancement and process improvement.
- Build a high-performance and safety-driven production culture.
- Machine & Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
- Monitor machine efficiency, preventive maintenance, and breakdown control.
- Support new machine installation, trial runs, and commissioning activities.
- Continuous Improvement & Cost Optimization
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Drive cost-saving projects related to manpower, utilities, wastage, and process efficiency.
- Analyze production MIS and KPI reports for operational improvements.
- Support automation and digitization initiatives within manufacturing.

Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Textile Engineering / Production / Mechanical / Industrial Engineering.
- 8–12 years of experience in textile manufacturing operations.
- Strong exposure to textile production processes such as printing, dyeing, finishing, garmenting, or technical textiles.
- Experience in handling large shop-floor manpower and shift operations preferred.
