Production Manager - Metal Fabrication

We're looking for a hands-on Production Manager to run our metal fabrication factory day to day. This is a working factory where skilled labour makes our products by hand, and you'll own the plant: production, people, materials and coordination.

This role is not for someone supervising a single line or process in a large automated plant. We need someone who has run a small or mid-sized manual fabrication unit and handled everything themselves.

What you'll do

• Run day-to-day factory operations and own production output, quality and timelines
• Plan daily and weekly production based on orders and stock requirements
• Manage, allocate and supervise labour and karigars: attendance, work assignment, productivity and discipline
• Procure raw materials (MS/SS sheets, pipes, rods, wire, hardware, consumables) at the right rates and quality
• Track metal and material rates, consumption and wastage, and keep costs in control
• Oversee fabrication processes: cutting, bending, welding, grinding, finishing, powder coating, assembly and packing
• Run quality checks and reduce rejections and rework
• Coordinate with the Head Office, Sourcing and Operations teams on orders, new products and dispatches
• Handle machine upkeep, job-work vendors, factory safety and housekeeping

Who you are

• 5+ years in metal fabrication or metal products manufacturing, ideally running or managing a small to mid-sized manual / semi-manual unit
• Strong technical knowledge of metal fabrication: materials, gauges, processes, tools, finishing and quality standards
• Knows the market: metal and raw material rates, suppliers, job-work vendors and labour availability
• Experienced in labour management: handling karigars, contractors and daily-wage workers, and getting work done on time
• Comfortable owning the plant end-to-end without needing every decision spelled out
• Basic Excel or record-keeping for production, attendance and material tracking

You'll stand out if you have

• Experience making home, kitchen, storage or furniture products in metal
• Experience setting up or improving production processes in a small factory
• Familiarity with Ghaziabad / NCR industrial areas, vendors and labour networks
