Production Manager | Jewellery Manufacturing

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to manage and supervise the complete jewellery manufacturing process. The role will be responsible for production planning, team management, quality control, material management, productivity, timely order completion and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Management

• Plan and monitor daily, weekly and monthly production schedules.
• Allocate work across CAD/CAM, Casting, Wax, Filing, Assembly, Stone Setting, Polishing, Rhodium, QC and Packing.
• Track production progress and ensure timely completion of orders.
• Identify production bottlenecks and take corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Design, Merchandising, Purchase and Sales teams.

Team Management

• Lead and supervise craftsmen, karigars and production staff.
• Allocate work according to skills, workload and production priorities.
• Monitor workforce productivity, attendance and discipline.
• Conduct regular production reviews and guide the team on quality and efficiency.

Quality & Material Control

• Ensure jewellery meets defined quality standards before dispatch.
• Coordinate with QC to reduce rejection, repair and rework.
• Monitor gold, diamonds, gemstones and other materials issued for production.
• Control metal loss, wastage and material discrepancies.
• Ensure proper material documentation and reconciliation.

Cost & Productivity

• Monitor labour productivity, machine utilization and production costs.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency while maintaining quality.
• Control overtime and unnecessary production expenses.
• Analyse production reports and identify areas for improvement.

Process Improvement & Compliance

• Develop and implement effective production SOPs.
• Improve workflows, capacity and production efficiency.
• Support automation and adoption of new manufacturing technologies.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards and housekeeping requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of jewellery designs and manufacturing processes.

Key Coordination

Work closely with Design, CAD, Purchase, Merchandising, Stores, Inventory, Sales, Quality Control and Dispatch teams to ensure smooth end-to-end production.

Candidate Requirements

• 8–10 years of relevant jewellery manufacturing experience.
• Minimum 3–5 years in a Production Manager or similar leadership role.
• Strong experience in Kundan, Meena, Jadau and Polki jewellery manufacturing.
• Knowledge of Gold, Diamond and Precious Jewellery production.
• Strong leadership, planning, problem-solving and team-management skills.
• Diploma/Degree in Production or a related field preferred.
• Jewellery manufacturing certification will be an added advantage.
