Job Purpose
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager for our API division .The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production management, with particular expertise in Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Distillation Columns. This role involves overseeing the entire production process, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and managing a team to achieve high-quality production outcomes.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all plant production operations to maintain smooth, efficient performance.
- Create and execute production strategies aligned with targets and business goals.
- Organize production schedules and ensure effective allocation of resources.
- Plan workforce requirements to maintain productivity and balanced staffing levels.
- Ensure manufacturing and storage processes follow defined procedures to meet quality standards.
- Review batch manufacturing and packaging records (BMR & BPR) for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure all machinery and instruments are properly qualified, calibrated, and maintained.
- Oversee product validations to confirm adherence to required standards.
- Track and maintain optimal inventory levels of consumables, logbooks, and labeling materials.
- Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs for all equipment.
- Collaborate closely with QA, QC, Stores, SCM, EHS, and E&M teams for production support.
- Promote clear communication and coordination across departments.
- Participate in GMP and safety trainings and apply learnings on the shop floor.
- Ensure continuous training and skill development of team members.
- Monitor SAP entries related to production and manage finished goods (FG) transfers.
- Handle investigations related to complaints, deviations, and quality issues; drive CAPA actions.
- Contribute to management reviews with a focus on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure timely reporting and escalation of quality concerns to leadership.
- Maintain strict adherence to cGMP guidelines across all production activities.
- Ensure readiness for audits and compliance with ISO and OHSAS standards.
- Identify, assess, and manage operational risks, hazards, and environmental impacts.
- Set and monitor objectives aligned with ISO and OHSAS compliance requirements.
- Identify and address Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) training needs for the team.
Requirements
- B.Tech (Chemical Engineering) is mandatory.
- Proven experience as a Production Manager in the pharmaceutical industry (Commercial)
- In-depth knowledge of and DCS, Distillation Column, CGMP regulations, Production Activities
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and training skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping.
- Experience in handling audits, inspections, and regulatory requirements.
