Production Department – Assistant Manager Job Profile

Position:Production Executive or Assistant Manager – Production

Department: Production / Factory

Reports To: Production Manager

Location: Kalyan or Bhiwandi

Experience : 5-8 years of manufacturing experience and 2 to 3 years in Supervisory Role

Salary expectation: 7 to 8 lacs depending on the qualification and experience

Key Responsibilities

1. Supply Planning & Demand Management (Highest Priority)

a. Manage PSI (Production, Sales and Inventory) planning for assigned businesses.

b. Review customer forecasts and demand plans from Ricoh Group companies.

c. Convert demand forecasts into executable production plans.

d. Monitor inventory levels, supply risks, and delivery performance.

e. Develop mitigation plans for demand fluctuations and supply disruptions.

f. Lead monthly supply and demand review processes.

iv. Forecast Accuracy

v. Customer Fill Rate

2. Production Planning & Control

a. Develop production schedules to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly output targets.

b. Monitor production plan versus actual performance and implement corrective actions.

c. Ensure optimum utilization of machinery, manpower, and production resources.

d. Balance customer demand requirements with manufacturing constraints.

e. Coordinate production priorities among multiple customers and business units.

3. Manufacturing Requirement & Customer Specification Management

a. Coordinate with Ricoh Group companies and customers to align manufacturing requirements.

b. Review product specifications and ensure manufacturing feasibility.

c. Manage customer-specific requirements including: Slitting dimensions, Core specifications, Packaging requirements, Labeling requirements, Special finishing requirements.

d. Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to ensure compliance.

4. Capacity Planning & Manufacturing Expansion

a. Monitor manufacturing capacity against future business requirements.

b. Develop capacity utilization and expansion plans.

c. Evaluate requirements for additional slitting equipment and supporting resources.

d. Support factory layout, infrastructure, and facility development projects.

e. Coordinate with engineering, facilities, finance, and management teams for investment planning.

f. Build long-term manufacturing growth plans.

5. Inventory & Material Management

a. Monitor raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventories.

b. Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams.

c. Improve inventory efficiency while maintaining supply stability.

d. Reduce material wastage and improve yield.

6. Process Improvement

a. Analyze production data and identify improvement opportunities.

b. Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and OEE improvement initiatives.

c. Work on productivity, cost reduction, and waste elimination projects.

7. Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis

a. Review key production and quality issues

b. Analyze recurring defects and customer complaints

c. Conduct root cause analysis (5 Why)

d. Review corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

e. Track effectiveness of implemented actions

f. Identify opportunities for process improvement

8. Export business support and scheduling

a. Review export order status and shipment schedules

b. Monitor customer delivery commitments and priorities

c. Coordinate production planning for export orders

d. Discuss logistics, documentation, and customs requirements

e. Identify risks related to shipment delays and material availability

f. Align production, inventory, and dispatch plans to meet export targets

Qualification

  • B.E. / B.Tech, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • MBA (Operations) can be an added advantage but is generally not mandatory.
