Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to optimize the plan and execute manufacturing Capex projects aligned with business requirements, capacity expansion, productivity improvement, and technology upgrades. Each day, you will oversee lifecycle management of capital assets, ensuring optimal utilization, preventive maintenance planning, performance monitoring, and maximization of return on investment (ROI) . You will drive industrial engineering initiatives including process optimization, cycle time reduction, layout improvement, and manufacturing productivity enhancement.

This role is contributing to the Motion business for High Power division based in Vadodara, India:

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Lead end-to-end Capex and Opex procurement lifecycle for manufacturing infrastructure, tooling, MRO, and engineering services, including requirement definition, technical specification preparation, supplier evaluation, techno-commercial discussions, procurement coordination, installation, commissioning, and project closure. Plan and execute manufacturing CapEx projects aligned with business requirements, capacity expansion, productivity improvement, and technology upgrades.

  • Develop, establish, and continuously improve manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and testing infrastructure to support production efficiency, quality standards, and operational readiness. Manage asset capitalization activities in coordination with Finance, ensuring compliance with ABB financial policies, documentation requirements, and audit standards.

  • Oversee lifecycle management of capital assets, ensuring optimal utilization, preventive maintenance planning, performance monitoring, and maximization of return on investment (ROI). Drive industrial engineering initiatives including process optimization, cycle time reduction, layout improvement, and manufacturing productivity enhancement.

  • Support vendor technical evaluation, qualification, and development in collaboration with Supply Chain Management to strengthen supplier capability and reliability.

  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders including Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Design, and Finance teams for successful execution of engineering and infrastructure projects.

  • Ensure compliance with ABB safety, quality, procurement, and governance standards across all CapEx and OpEx activities. Identify and implement cost optimization and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and manufacturing competitiveness.


Qualifications for the role
  • Full time Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with hands on Auto CAD/3D Modelling/Solid Works

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in rotating machine manufacturing or equivalent.

  • Possess an enhanced knowledge of / You are qualified in / Highly adept in - On hand Auto Cad / Solid works / 3D modeling

  • Industrial & Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. Asset Capitalization & Lifecycle Management. Manufacturing Infrastructure & Tooling Development. Equipment Installation & Commissioning.

  • Vendor Technical Evaluation & Development. Process Optimization & Productivity Improvement. Cross-Functional Project Coordination.
