Role Overview

In this role, you will be a strong software engineer with production-debugging and distributed-systems expertise, responsible for the reliability of our mission-critical trading platform. This is not simply triaging and closing incidents: you will diagnose, automate and permanently eliminate the underlying application issues. You will reproduce failures, read and modify production code to implement the fix, and add detection or prevention mechanisms so the same class of issue doesn't recur.

What You'll Do

• Partner with traders. Work directly with the trading desk to understand what they need from our systems, and turn that into fixes, tools and improvements.
• Own production support. Provide L1 and L2 support for live trading systems, diagnose issues under time pressure, and drive them to root cause.
• Build a self-correcting support system. Help design and implement tooling that detects, diagnoses and recovers from failures with less human intervention.
• Grow our Python framework. Extend and improve our in-house Python codebase, and help shape where it goes next.
• Ship faster with AI. Use AI-assisted development and automation to significantly cut the time it takes to get system changes into production.
• Strengthen observability. Contribute to our monitoring stack (Grafana, Prometheus, alerting) and report clearly on system status and health.
• Be the technical face to brokers and exchanges. Act as the primary technical contact for connectivity, certification and incident coordination.
• Share on-call. Take part in a periodic after-hours and early-morning coverage rotation.

What We're Looking For

Ideally, you come from the finance industry and bring:

• 3–5 years in a high-pressure production environment, diagnosing and resolving live issues on the fly
• A solid grasp of electronic trading and financial instruments: equities, futures and options
• Strong Unix/Linux skills and production-grade Python
• Hands-on experience with a scheduler or orchestrator such as Airflow
• Working experience with Grafana dashboards and alerting
• A good understanding of networking and operating-system fundamentals
• The ability to juggle several tasks at once in a fast-paced setting, with real ownership of outcomes
• Willingness to pick up work of any size, from a one-line fix to a new subsystem
• Clear, confident communication in English, with traders, engineers and external counterparties alike
• Curiosity, and a habit of solving problems in new ways rather than patching around them

Nice to Have

• SQL and experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
• Exposure to exchange connectivity or trading protocols on Indian or global venues
• Experience with Kafka, Prometheus or other parts of a modern observability and data stack
