Job Description

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage end-to-end cable manufacturing processes including Drawing, Stranding, Insulation, Laying, Sheathing, Armoring, Rewinding, and Curing as per SOPs.
  • Ensure production quality meets technical specifications, design sheets, and applicable standards.
  • Drive adherence to production plans for timely customer deliveries.
  • Maintain workplace safety and implement 5S practices across the shop floor.
  • Ensure availability of materials, tools, and equipment for uninterrupted operations.
  • Monitor machine performance and minimize downtime through effective maintenance coordination.
  • Control scrap generation, improve productivity, and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities through Poka-Yoke, RCA, FMEA, and process optimization.
  • Maintain production records, MIS reports, and downtime analysis.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, Purchase, Safety, and Dispatch teams for smooth operations.

Requirements & Skills

  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in Cable Manufacturing Operations.
  • Strong understanding of HV/EHV cable manufacturing processes, including: Rod Breakdown (RBD), Stranding, Extrusion, Laying, CCV (Continuous Catenary Vulcanization) & VCV (Vertical Continuous Vulcanization)
  • Knowledge of production planning, process control, inventory management, and quality systems.
  • Experience in implementing Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, RCA, and FMEA methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze production data, downtime reports, and process performance metrics.
