Product Manager - Hand Tools

  1. Product Strategy & Lifecycle: Define the Hand Toos Product Portfolio requirements for the local markets Define and execute the product roadmap with timelines for hand tools, from conceptualization to launch and eventual retirement.

2.    Cooperate closely with the Asia and Global Product Management Team

3.    Secure efficient cooperation with manufacturer brands.

4.    Visit Customer together with Sales to better understand product/service requirements

5.    Do detailed price analysis and define the best market position

6.    Initiate project development project together with global PM organization

7.    Analyze sales data and create standardized reports for the hand tools product group

8.    Visit suppliers to check their capabilities and discuss product improvements

9.    Interpret quality reports and discuss with suppliers how to improve the product quality.

10. Represent the Hand Tools Cluster in the Hoffmann India Product Management Team.

11. Portfolio Management: Manage the existing product range, including product performance analysis, pricing strategy, stock planning & maintenance and profitability.

12. Market Intelligence: Regularly collect competition data, analyze market trends, and identify new opportunities in the industrial/automotive segments, by visiting exhibitions to interact with customers and suppliers.

13. Sales & Marketing Support: Plan and conduct new product introductions, create marketing collateral, product training materials, and support sales teams with product positioning and promotions.

  1. Customer Interaction: Travel for market field reports, customer visits, and trade shows to gather insights into the market and support sales. 
  2. Supplier Management: Identifying new suppliers & working with existing suppliers, along with Global Product Managers to decide the strategy, pricing, etc to support sales in India by developing local product portfolio with the process of defining the product specifications, sampling, testing, inward inspection and finalization.
  3. Trainings: Design the training module/material and conduct Product training sessions for the internal and external teams.
  4. Reporting: Generate performance reports to map the progress on the product strategy.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or relevant specialization in hand tools.
  • Experience: On the Job experience with Product Management of a trading company/manufacturer in the field of Hand tools or metrology is mandatory.
  • Additionally required is a highly distinct service orientation as well as professional approach to the related issues and a highly professional appearance.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of product design, manufacturing processes (e.g., forging, machining), and materials.
  • Analytical Skills: Competence in data analysis, market research, pricing, and profitability calculation.
  • Communication: Strong presentation and communication skills with very good proficiency in MS Office for interacting with sales teams and stakeholders. 
  • Language Skills : Fluent business English skills (Oral & Written).
