Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Global Trade Compliance Subject Matter Expert to lead the functional design and optimization of our Global Trade Management (GTM) solutions. This role is critical in shaping how our platform handles Free Trade Agreement (FTA) Qualifications and Country of Origin (COO) Determination. The ideal candidate has a deep technical understanding of global trade regulations and a proven track record of transitioning manual compliance workflows into streamlined, automated enterprise processes.

Key Responsibilities

● Domain Leadership: Serve as the primary authority on FTA qualification logic (Value Content, Change in Tariff Classification, De Minimis, etc.) and COO determination rules across multiple jurisdictions.

● Solution Design: Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate complex trade regulations into functional software requirements and automated logic.

● Process Engineering: Analyze existing trade functions within enterprise environments to identify bottlenecks and design to-be processes that improve accuracy and solicitation response rates.

● Regulatory Mapping: Maintain and update the logic for various trade agreements (e.g., USMCA, EU-UK TCA, CPTPP) to ensure the solution remains compliant with evolving global standards.

● Stakeholder Advocacy: Act as a bridge between technical teams and end-users (Trade Managers/Analysts) to ensure the solution solves real-world compliance pain points.

Required Skills & Qualifications

● Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Global Trade Compliance, specifically focused on origin management and FTA solicitation.

● Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge of the Harmonized System (HS), Bill of Materials (BOM) analysis, and the calculation of Regional Value Content (RVC).

● Implementation Background: Proven experience implementing or optimizing GTM systems (e.g., SAP GTS, Oracle GTM, or proprietary in-house builds) within a large enterprise or a specialized trade service firm.

● Analytical Mindset: Ability to break down complex legal text from trade agreements into logical if-then workflows for developers.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Law, or a related field. (Licensed Customs Broker or similar certification is a strong plus).

Preferred Skills

● Experience with Product Classification automation using AI/ML.

● Background in Supplier Solicitation strategies and improving vendor engagement.

● Knowledge of global customs valuation and its impact on origin.
