What you will build :

We are seeking an Entry Level Security Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support the integration of security best practices throughout the Secure Development & Operations Life Cycle (SDOL) from design to deployment. You will work alongside experienced security professionals to assist CX engineering teams with vulnerability management, code review support, and open source security practices. The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge of application security, familiarity with Cloud security principles, and eagerness to learn security tools and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Secure Development Lifecycle (SDOL) Support:

  • Assist cross-functional teams in integrating security into the development lifecycle.
  • Learn and apply SAP's Product Standards and SDOL requirements with mentorship.
  • Work with product security officers to understand and improve product security posture for CX Products.

Open Source Security:

  • Assist with Open-Source security topics and learn to identify security risks in dependencies.
  • Gain hands-on experience with open source security tools and best practices.

Threat Modeling

  • Participate and co-lead Threat Modeling workshops with developers, architects, and security champions.
  • Assist in documenting security threats and learning about mitigation support

What you bring:

  • Foundational knowledge of application security principles
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and take constructive feedback.

Good to have:

  • Familiarity with security testing tools (e.g., SAST, DAST, SCA) or willingness to learn.
  • Basic understanding of SAP's SDOL and Product Security Requirements.
  • Exposure to open source security tools and practices.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C++) or strong learning ability.
  • Experience with one or more threat modeling workshops
