Function Overview

The GIC Supply Chain team manages end-to-end operations, encompassing planning, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, and analytics. They strategically plan to meet market demands, optimize sourcing, ensure efficient production, and oversee the seamless movement of goods from production to delivery. The team employs advanced analytics throughout these processes, fostering adaptability and operational excellence. This collaborative approach ensures a well-coordinated supply chain that aligns with both organizational goals and dynamic market conditions.

Purpose of the role

The Product Safety Team is seeking a Product Safety Analyst to support recall readiness and the traceability of product across the North American supply chain. Our mission is to ensure consumer safety and protect the brand reputation by supporting the accuracy and traceability of General Mills products. In this role the incumbent's focus will be to support recall readiness, organic certification, traceability, product safety processes, and zero loss of hold control by conducting trace audits and executing reports with excellency and accuracy. Completing these Audits and Traces will help to ensure that our North American Supply Chain will continue to have traceability, integrity and continued certification overall. The incumbent will work closely with fellow Product Safety Analysts, Product Safety Lead, and Product Safety Manager in the US and will also collaborate with the Food Safety Quality team and our Logistics teams across our corporate headquarters, General Mills plants, External Supply Chain plants, and warehousing sites.

Key Accountabilities

80% of Time - Operational responsibilities

  • Investigate product alerts submitted by warehousing sites. Help troubleshoot issues with shipping sites, determine if HiFi holds are necessary until issues is resolved. Complete trending reports and work cross-functionally to determine root cause and corrective actions.
  • Monitor General Mills Code Date and Material information in SAP. Identify Code Date/Materials that are out of compliance and work with sites to find resolution
  • Monitor hold and HiFi task discrepancies for finished product within SAP for Warehousing, External Supply Chain, and Internal General Mills plants. Manage responses and/or corrections to ensure accurate data.
  • Maintain hold management/recall readiness contact list. Maintain system/process related to inventory control and trace management.
  • Respond to Product Safety Questions related finished product cases, pallet tags, and outbound paperwork. Work with Food Safety & Quality to initiate the HiFi Process as needed

20% of Time - Additional Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Perform System updates/maintenance as necessary.
  • Co-ordinate process documentation- Desk Manuals, Job Task Analysis.
  • Work on Special Projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Full Time graduation from an accredited university (Mandatory). Bachelors Degree
  • Supply chain, Distribution Planning, Warehouse & Logistics Operation, Inventory management/Quality Hold process, Production/demand planning
  • SAP - ERP and OMP understanding.
