Product Owner (Business Side)
Role Overview:
The Product Owner (Business) will drive end-to-end product lifecycle activities across complex telecom workflows, working closely with engineering, architecture, and cross-functional business teams. The role requires translating business needs into clear user stories, functional specifications, and actionable technical requirements while ensuring alignment with Quote-to-Cash processes, modernization goals, and enterprise product strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Define product vision, roadmap, and priorities in line with business objectives and telecom functional needs.
- Gather, analyse, and translate business requirements into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications.
- Partner closely with engineering, architecture, operations, and QA teams to ensure clarity, feasibility, and timely delivery.
- Own and refine the product backlog; ensure alignment of features with Q2C flows and end-to-end business logic.
- Drive cross-functional discussions to resolve dependencies and streamline business workflows.
- Support legacy modernization activities by aligning requirements, identifying gaps, and enabling smooth transition paths.
- Review outcomes, validate features against acceptance criteria, and ensure business readiness for releases.
- Communicate decisions, risks, and progress clearly to stakeholders.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong understanding of Quote-to-Cash (Q2C) processes and Telecom business flows.
- Ability to articulate and document clear user stories, technical specifications, and acceptance criteria.
- Solid grasp of business logic, enterprise process flows, and cross-functional dependencies.
- Experience collaborating with engineering, architecture, operations, and business teams.
- Exposure to legacy modernization programs and handling transitional business requirements.
- Strong problem-solving, ownership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Familiarity with API ecosystems, microservices concepts, or data-driven workflows.
- Knowledge of telecom OSS/BSS systems.
- Understanding of reporting, analytics, or dashboard requirements.
Certifications (if any)
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent Agile certifications are a plus.
Experience & Work Arrangement
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant Product Owner / Business PO experience.
- Strong emphasis on ownership, attitude, structured thinking, and clarity.
