Key Responsibilities
A Product Owner defines what the product should achieve and decides what needs to be built and in what order.
They maintain and update the list of work items, ensuring it reflects current priorities and goals.
They write clear, concise requirements and provide ongoing clarification to the team.
Working closely with developers, designers, and other stakeholders, they support smooth delivery and resolve questions quickly.
They review completed work, accept or reject it based on agreed criteria, and ensure quality standards are met.
They gather feedback from users and stakeholders, monitor outcomes, and use this insight to adjust plans and priorities.
They also track progress, manage expectations, and communicate updates, risks, and changes clearly and regularly to all involved.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Develop understanding of the market segment and product positioning.
Consistently evaluate and become the expert in the domain space.
Collaborate with the product stakeholders to understand the product vision and roadmap.
Identify success criteria and to translate the product vision into executable goals that can be met in an incremental and iterative manner.
Prioritize the backlog and align to product strategy.
Analyze information and make recommendations.
Define user journeys, process maps, use cases, etc.
Ability to work in a technical environment and to articulate technical requirements
Strong focus on standards and operating consistently with best practice processes
Work closely with stakeholders on delivery teams (developers, QA, delivery managers) in designing, implementation and testing of solutions.
Facilitate, mediate, and align requirements and dependencies across multiple teams and business units
Demonstrate clarity of thought and the ability to translate the complex into simple and consistent terms.
