POSITION SUMMARY
The Product Owner, Integration Enablement Center (IEC) is responsible for the strategy, governance, technology, delivery, and operations of Zoetis integration platforms and APIs. This role is central to enabling digital transformation by providing a standardized, secure, and reusable integration capability that accelerates business outcomes while improving reliability and cost efficiency. The role drives a hybrid integration platform model spanning Azure Integration Services, MuleSoft (including Flex Gateway), SAP BTP, and cloud services (Azure/AWS), supporting API-led, event-driven, and file/B2B integration scenarios. The Head of IEC ensures operational excellence through observability, runbook-driven support, SLAs/SLOs, and DevOps/CI/CD guardrails across integration products. The position provides executive-level leadership for platform rationalization and universal API management to improve platform consistency, metadata quality, reuse, compliance, and cost control at enterprise scale.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
* Develop and execute a comprehensive enterprise integration strategy that aligns with Zoetis overall IT and business objectives, incorporating emerging technologies and best practices and standardizing reusable integration archetypes (API-led, event-driven, file/B2B, and data movement patterns).
* Define and maintain the integration architecture for business capabilities in partnership with Enterprise Architecture, Business Partners, and Platform Owners, including a consistent engagement model with stage gates and architecture checkpoints.
* Realize the integration efforts associated with the organization's NextGen transformation, focusing on reusable archetypes and assets integrating S4 with edge/satellite applications and systems.
* Drive the adoption and evolution of hybrid integration platforms, leveraging technologies such as Azure Integration Services, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), AWS, MuleSoft, and others.
* Lead change management initiatives to promote an API-first and integration-centered mindset across all business functions, including improved API/product metadata discipline and reuse expectations.
Governance and Compliance
* Establish and enforce integration governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
* Define integration modalities, frameworks, and tool usage guidelines to promote a coherent, integrated, and centrally governed service across multiple integration scenarios.
* Assess the current Zoetis enterprise integration landscape across towers and functions, developing an Integration Platform Rationalization Roadmap that aligns integration platforms to enterprise architectural standards.
* Evolve the Universal API Management framework and centralized API catalog for Zoetis integration assets.
* Ensure adherence to data privacy, security, and quality standards in all integrations.
Integration Delivery and Operational Excellence
* Lead the design, development, and delivery of end-to-end integrations and APIs, coordinating with source and target system development leads.
* Promote extensibility and preservation of clean core by leveraging SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) for side-by-side extensions and reusable APIs.
* Foster collaboration between ERP-focused and non-ERP integration workstreams to ensure consistent, scalable, and reusable solutions.
* Implement monitoring and optimization strategies to ensure integration solutions operate efficiently, reliably, and cost-effectively.
Technical Leadership
* Provide architectural oversight and governance for scalable, secure, and high-performing integration solutions.
* Collaborate with enterprise, solution, and functional architects to ensure consistency and alignment with ZTD architectural standards.
* Drive innovation by exploring new integration technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve platform capabilities.
* Leverage the ZICC, maximizing its talent, efficiency, and time zone advantages to deliver scalable solutions, accelerate timelines, and drive outcomes.
Team Development and Management
* Build and lead a high-performing integration enablement team, composed of internal colleagues and partner talent, to meet business objectives and ensure operational excellence.
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement by regularly refining integration processes, frameworks, and tools.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Partner with business and technology leaders to ensure alignment of integration strategies with business goals and enterprise priorities.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including application developers, infrastructure teams, and business analysts, to ensure seamless integration across systems.
Budget and Vendor Management
* Manage relationships, budgets, and contracts with data and service providers in the integration space.
* Optimize resource allocation and vendor engagement to meet project demands and operational needs effectively.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Percent of Time
Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and maintain a comprehensive integration strategy and roadmap that aligns with the organization's overall IT strategy and business objectives. Ensure the integration strategy incorporates best practices and leverages emerging technologies to stay ahead of industry trends. 20%
Solution Design & Architecture: Lead the design and architecture of scalable, secure, and robust integration solutions including (and not limited to) Azure Integration Services, SAP Business Transformation Platform (BTP), MuleSoft, Control-M, and others. Ensure architectural integrity and consistency across all integration projects, providing architectural oversight and governance. Develop and maintain architectural blueprints and documentation for integration solutions. 10%
Technical Leadership & Guidance: Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of integration specialists, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices. Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Stay updated on the latest integration technologies and methodologies to continuously improve the integration architecture. 15%
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Engage with business stakeholders to understand their integration needs and translate these requirements into technical specifications and integration solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including application developers, infrastructure teams, and business analysts, to ensure seamless integration across systems. Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather requirements and present integration solutions. 10%
Resource Management: Manage and allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines and ensure the successful delivery of integration solutions. Identify skill gaps within the team and implement training or hiring strategies to address these gaps. Coordinate with external vendors and consultants as necessary to supplement internal capabilities. 10%
Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Implement monitoring and performance optimization strategies to ensure integration solutions operate efficiently, reliably, and in a cost-effective manner. Conduct regular reviews and audits of integration solutions to identify areas for improvement and optimization. Utilize tools and platforms such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and other performance monitoring tools to ensure optimal performance. 10%
Governance & Compliance: Establish and enforce integration governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements. Maintain documentation and ensure that integration processes adhere to established standards and guidelines. Ensure data privacy and security standards are met in all integration solutions. 10%
Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with integration projects and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact. Ensure that all integration solutions are designed with security in mind, protecting sensitive data and maintaining system integrity. 5%
Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation within the integration domain by exploring new technologies, tools, and methodologies. Promote a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing and refining integration processes and practices. 10%

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
* 15 years of related work experience in Integration and Solution Architecture
Experience:
* Extensive experience in leading enterprise-wide integration strategies and operations, including API-led and event-driven architectures.
* Thought Leadership: ability to shape enterprise integration vision in the context of large-scale transformation programs.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Experience in collaborating with diverse stakeholders and translating business requirements into technical specifications.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
* Demonstrated experience establishing integration governance operating models, including intake/triage, architecture reviews, and platform standards enforcement.
* Proven track record improving integration operational maturity (observability, runbooks, incident/problem patterns, and reliability outcomes).
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Expertise in the following key technology areas:
* Integration Patterns: Knowledge of various integration design patterns, such as messaging, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
* Solution Architecture: Ability to design scalable, maintainable, and high-performing integration solutions.
* Technical Project & Financial Management: including resource allocation, budgeting, and timeline management.
* FinOps: Understand the financials of Integration delivery; ensure stakeholders are aware of and understand cloud hosting costs.
* Integration platforms, such as Azure Integration Services, MuleSoft, AWS, SAP BTP and hybrid cloud platforms.
* Security Best Practices: Understanding of security practices for integration, including data encryption, secure communication, and compliance with regulatory standards.
* Monitoring, performance optimization, and governance for integration solutions.
