Organization Unit Purpose
Position Description:
Product Owner (PO) is accountable for maximizing the value of the product resulting from the work of the Scrum Team by taking complete ownership of the Product and its delivery across ENBD UAE, Islamic and other international entities as per the product scope owned by the squad PO is a virtual leader of the squad and is product's representative outside the squad for all functional, technical, operational as well as financial matters
Job Purpose
Agile delivery and Channel Management businessONLINE
Lead a team of Product owners and Business Analysts who are responsible for delivery of new
products and services via agile delivery squads for businessONLINE (web, mobile, Host to
Host and API Banking)
Ensure that new products / features which have potential use cases for other entities (EI and
International), are made available at an enterprise level based on demand and relevance.
Ensure that all new (Business Requirement Document) BRDs are reviewed and accepted by all
stakeholders
For approved BRDs, ensure timely creation of Functional Specifications Document (FSDs) and
set delivery timelines with the vendor and impacted platform owners accordingly
Review, prioritize and publish the channel backlog at regular intervals
Conduct epic/feature prioritization and customer Usability Testing workshops
Ensure that our test case repositories are constantly updated and include scenarios relevant
to real business situations.
Leverage automated testing tools and scripts to optimize testing efficiency
Communicate the product release plan to all stakeholders
Conduct comprehensive production sanity involving pilot clients prior to launch
Owner of all Technology Risks, Issues, Problem Tickets, Audit Issues and Resiliency issues
(Technical Debt) which exist on the business product
and is responsible to get them resolved with the help of the squad as per defined SLAs and
committed timelines
Single Point of Contact to receive, collate and prioritize all product enhancements, bug fixes,
regulatory and technical demands across all entities in the group
Align and Execute Product Strategy with overall Business strategy globally while acting as voice
of customer
Manage Executive stakeholders globally and establish consistent communication channels
Conflict Management and Issue Resolution within various Product Squads internally and
Externally
Responsible to create and implement Product Commercialization and Customer adoption
strategies
Drive campaigns to create channel awareness and identify the right marketing channels for
promotion and awareness.
Conduct periodic trainings and product familiarization sessions for BA's and Testers.
Product Ownership
Owning the product including its strategy, delivery, commercialization and life cycle
Owning the Product Financials and associated costs while maximizing ROI
Owning the Technical Debt (Code Refactoring, Resiliency, Performance and Inefficiencies) and
constantly working to reduce it
Owning Product's Operational Processes in the organization along with any Audit, Compliance,
Risk and Security Issues related to product and ensuring
their resolution as per committed SLAs
Owning Product Technical Support including Incidents, Problem Tickets and customer
queries/complains
Product Backlog Management
Developing and explicitly communicating the Product Goal
Creating clear, precise and well-articulated value driven backlog by describing items as
Epics/Features/User Stories Acceptance Criteria
Prioritization of Items in Product Backlog
Ensuring that Product Backlog is transparent, visible and understood by all relevant
stakeholders
Keeping adequate work for the team by having a refined backlog of T+ 2 Sprints (where
T is current sprint)
Product Release Backlog
Creation of Release Backlog based to clearly define which feature is intended to be
released when
Creating the customer feedback loop to incorporate voice of customer
Enabling Early Value Delivery for the Product to improve ROI by intelligently creating
MVPs
Demand Sizing and Prioritization
Receive Collate and Prioritize all demands (be it functional or technical) relevant to their
product line with all the stakeholders across business
segments and geographies
Refine the demand and size it with the help of the team
Communicating and aligning the Cost and Delivery Timelines for the demands with
respective stakeholders
Product Delivery
Accountable for end-to-end product delivery as per committed timelines/sizing as much
as possible
Responsible to conduct Refinement and Planning sessions
Work with the Scrum Masters to identify the in efficiencies and impediments to improve
team's efficiency overall
Provide support and required inputs to the team as needed in order to deliver the
respective feature
Aligning the Product delivery dependencies with other platforms with the help of Scrum
Master and Agile Release Lead
Ensuring right and efficient solution is being designed by Solution Architects to fulfill
customers expectations
Stakeholder Management
Responsible for Stakeholder identification and management for the product
Responsible to conduct Feature Prioritization Sessions to seek Stakeholders Alignment
Responsible to establish and maintain critical communication channels to keep
Stakeholders informed
Responsible to Conduct Product Demo sessions to seek stakeholder feedback
Channel and platform production support for Account Information and Payment Services (for UAE, KSA, Egypt, India and EI)
Track all production issues related to account information and payment services across
Corporate Channels and core platforms (Finacle, Payment Hub, BPM, Express Clear, SWIFT, FTS etc.
Based on the severity and ageing of the issue, liaise with the respective platform owners for
prioritization, escalation and closure
Provide business signoffs and approvals for patch upgrades/fixes and system downtime
Present a periodic update to senior management on Incident history highlighting ageing,
severity and recurrence.
Conduct reviews on the RCA's shared by Group IT for P1 and P2 incidents.
