Job Title: Product & Design Merchant

Experience: 5-8 years
Position's Objective:
- This role will primarily focus on driving follow ups, coordination, and tracking across multiple categories to ensure smooth and timely product development and sourcing.
- The role requires working closely with design, sourcing, and vendor teams to manage large SKU volumes and support execution across Soft Home and Hardgoods.
Education Qualification: NIFT/Pearl/NID/Graduate
Development Coordination & Follow-ups:
- Soft Home (bedding, table linen, upholstery, curtains, floor coverings) and Hardgoods (tableware, décor, gifting)
- Drive regular follow ups with vendors on sampling, corrections, and timelines
- Ensure samples are received, reviewed, and updated as per feedback
- Support the team in tracking product development across categories.
Vendor Coordination
- Act as a key point of contact for vendors for day to day follow-ups
- Coordinate with existing vendors and support onboarding of new vendors through fairs and market visits
- Track vendor commitments, timelines, and delays
Tracking & Data Management
- Maintain detailed sampling trackers, development sheets, and SKU level entries in Excel
- Ensure all updates are accurately recorded and shared with the team
- Highlight delays, gaps, and risks proactively
Craft Cluster Understanding
- Build an understanding of craft clusters, their processes, and timelines
- Be able to navigate logistical challenges or learn quickly on the job
Cross-functional Coordination
- Work closely with design, sourcing, buying, and quality teams for smooth execution
- Ensure alignment between internal teams and vendors
Knowledge & Skills:
- 5–8 years of experience in merchandising/product development
- Strong proficiency in Excel (trackers, data management)
- Ability to manage and track large volumes of SKUs across multiple categories
- Strong followup and coordination skills
- Basic understanding of home products (textiles and/or hardgoods)
- Exposure to vendor coordination and development processes
- Understanding of or willingness to learn about craft clusters and decentralized production systems
- Export background preferred
- Highly organized and detail oriented

- Good communication and coordination skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and timelines simultaneously
- Proactive in identifying and preempting delays and driving closures
